CAT WARLOCK: This Darklord Feasts Upon Horror

Chapter 84: Level 7

"This? This is the thing that the Roady Seven sold us. I thought it looked cool so…"

Crow snatched the badge and examined it. It was definitely a Bronze Badge.

"Where is this Roady Seven?"

"They're at the abandoned warehouse."

Morning came and Mater once again felt fresh after an entire night of peace. Crow told him and Selina about what he had found last night.

Selina picked up the badge. "That Roady Seven might be the group that we're looking for."

Mater rubbed his small cat jaw in deep thought. "The Sheriff has the files ready. We also know the next gathering place and time of the Red Keepers. That Roady Seven might be the Fake Hunters group. If not, they could definitely lead us to them."

Mater meowed. "Let's go to the abandoned warehouse first. But I need to do something before that."

He still had fifteen Chaos Spheres from yesterday. It was time to infuse them further. He vomited out two Spheres and gave them to Aurora and Crow respectively. Without their shrines, they couldn't regain their Chaos. So they would need to use Chaos Spheres instead.

Fortunately the two didn't use that much Chaos. The fight with the Red Keepers was rather easy.

Aurora and Crow swallowed the two Chaos Spheres and stored it around their heart. They used a little bit of their Chaos to fill their Chaos Well to the max.

Mater then infused the remaining 11 Chaos Spheres.

"3,250 kilometers."

"3,350 kilometers."

"3,400 kilometers."

"3,450 kilometers."

"3,500 kilometers."

"Level 7."

"3,550 kilometers."

"3,600 kilometers."

"3,650 kilometers."

"3,750 kilometers."

"3,800 kilometers."

"3,850 kilometers."

His Chaos Well went from under 200 kilometers to 750 kilometers, providing quite a bit of comfort.

"My Chaos is constantly low. But it should no longer be a problem when I max out level 10. I also reached level 7."

Level 7 allowed for 7 additional spells in the Dark Grimoire, 4 Submission Seals to be made, and 2 Demonic Items.

Mater had no intention of making a Demonic Item yet.

He already inscribed six spells in the Dark Grimoire. There was room for one more.

However, about Submission Seals, he didn't have a target for it yet. He would also need an additional 1,000 Chaos Points to construct a summoning ritual, which he only had around 750 at the moment.

"Can't summon something new. Let's just leave the Submission Seals alone. I should just inscribe the seventh spell."

Now he had to decide what the spell would be. The only contenders were movement spell and controlling spell. The movement spell was obvious because he had very limited mobility at the moment. The only way for him to move effectively was flying on the Dark Grimoire, which cost a lot of Chaos.

Chains of Shadow was very good but it was limited by a single target and needed to have darkness nearby. A better wide range spell with less effective restraining method might be desirable.

He also would battle the Fish Wraith soon. Its home ground was the Onoke Lake. He couldn't get under the water or allow the Dark Grimoire to be wet. It would be detrimental to the book and he would have to spend even more Chaos to protect the book. A spell that allowed him to fight underwater was also useful.

"I don't have a good spell that can help me go underwater. Most of them have too many limitations and I would need to protect the book also. Aurora and Crow don't need to breathe so they can get underwater if needed. Crow can also shapeshift freely so it should pose no problem. Let me cross this out of the list.

The movement spell can be useful. But do I really need it? With Crow as the front line, it should be easy for me to keep a safe distance away. Aurora also has a lot of environment spells that can keep me safe.

The controlling spell seems most fitting at the moment. Those Red Keepers would have run away if it wasn't for Crow and Aurora."

Controlling spells were spells that could apply a disabling effect. It could be movement restricting like Chains of Shadow, or wide-range effect like Crow's Call. Crow's Call didn't specify allies and enemies so anyone inside the effective radius would be influenced.

Mater wanted a third controlling spell that could hold multiple opponents without affecting his allies.

Quick Sand was a very good Rank 1 Spell that could make the ground the enemies stepped on to become quicksand, potentially hindering their movement. He could target five targets at most with this spell. The limitation of this spell was also obvious, without a ground, the spell would be completely useless.

Tender Ankles. This was a spell that would weaken the feet of the enemies, slowing them down and also making it easier to knock them down. This didn't have the ground limitation but would be much less effective with flying or swimming enemies. Swimming enemies would be slower much less while flying enemies could completely ignore the spell. But it had its uses.

Blinding Void. This didn't restrain an enemy but instead created a small black sphere that made any being looking at it temporarily blind for a few seconds. It could assist Crow and Aurora in attacking as well. Its limitations was that the enemy could look away or close their eyes if they knew about Blinding Void.

"Tender Ankles wouldn't work on wraith or beings without muscle, unfortunately.

Quick Sand had environmental restrictions.

Blinding Void seems to be the most useful, despite its limitations."

Mater didn't need to use Blinding Void in an honest way, he could easily find a good opportunity to use it, or even mask it with other spells to further trick his enemies.

"Blinding Void it is."

Mater extended his claws and started to scatter Chaos on to the twelfth page. The sketch for Blinding Void was a tiny ball without anything special about it. Inside it was many symbols layering on top of each other.

The black cat lay on the bed inscribing its spell while its owner and its two servants observed with great interest.
