Selina slept all the way to noon. When she woke up, she saw Mater looking at her with his wavy tail.
The cat had changed somehow. Selina could feel it. It was even more beautiful than before. The black fur glimmered in the sunlight.
Selina picked him up and kissed Mater in the face.
"Good morning, Mr. Mater!" She kissed him repeatedly. Mater liked it at the beginning but he found it a little bit annoying after the tenth one.
The black cat pushed her face away and growled loudly. It jumped out of her hand and meowed.
"Master asked what are you going to do today?" Aurora said.
"Oh? Did he lose the ability to speak?" Selina said.
"I can speak. But it is wasteful to do so." The black cat let out its deep voice again.
"I understand. Well, you can always talk through Aurora." Selina said. "About my plan for today… Aren't we going to the Onoke Swamp and deal with the NCE there?"
"Change of plan. I need to prepare first before we're going there. We will go to the Onoke Swamp tomorrow." The black cat meowed.
"Perfect. Then I will just tag along then." Selina smiled.
"It will be very boring." Aurora translated the words.
"Don't worry. I'll buy some snacks on the way there."
"If you insist. Let's go then."
Crow finished another lap around the town before returning to Mater.
The group climbed on the motorcycle and drove away. Selina was in the front, Aurora was in the back, Mater was in Selina's shirt, and Crow was in the sky.
They followed Selina and Mater and watched them eat their brunch before buying some snacks and returned to yesterday's gathering location of the Red Keepers.
The Landa was pretty good on dirt roads. It wasn't smooth like on asphalt but still very acceptable. That salesman really did tell Selina the truth.
The stopped at the location as Selina released the kickstand and leaned the motorcycle over.
"What exactly are we doing?" Selina said.
"Recruiting new servants."
The cat jumped out of her shirt and went to the piles of ash. Most of them were swept away by the wind but Mater remembered where they were.
The ash wasn't really important for what Mater was trying to do. The location was enough.
The soul of the victims should stay at where they're killed for at least a few years. They could either move on or become a wraith.
There were sixteen deaths yesterday. Right at where the group were staying. The air was filled with negative Phasmon Energy.
Selina pinched her nose and waved her hand around. "What is that smell? It is horrible."
"The energy of specters. Or rather, negative energy. People can't usually smell it. But for a Psychic with an open Singularity like you, you should be able to sense it." The black cat meowed.
Mater turned to Crow. "Use your Nether Spear and help me draw a ritual on the ground, Crow."
"Yes, Master!" Crow bowed. The purple spear appeared in his hand.
Under Mater's guidance, they spent the afternoon creating a large and complex magical circle. It had many intertwined lines and shapes.
Selina felt a little bit dizzy looking at the ritual so she went away and looked for somewhere nice to sit. She and Aurora shared some snacks and gossiped.
"So… Do you remember your previous life, Aurora?"
"Only bits and pieces of it, Your Majesty."
"Why are you calling me like that?!"
"Master said that you are his queen, so…"
"Just call me Selina, please."
Crow finished the ritual after a few hours. It was no small task as a tiny wrong stroke could have ruined the whole thing.
The black cat walked around the chaos ritual, examining the pattern to the smallest details. Finally, it nodded.
"Nicely done, Crow."
"It's my honor to serve you, Master."
Mater was level 10. He could have 10 additional Spells, 5 Servants, and 3 Demonic Items.
He had no material for Demonic Items at the moment.
As for Servants, Mater had Aurora and Crow. But he did not have the right target to enslave. So he did what every sensible warlock would do, and that was to create one.
Create, not summon. This Chaos Ritual wasn't a Summoning Ritual but a Binding Ritual, an evil manifestation of the soul.
There were 15 weak souls belonging to 15 Red Hoods. A Crimson Hood with a more powerful soul than the rest. The black cat intended to fuse all of them into one and create his first Chaos Creation in this world.
Aurora and Crow were very powerful. But only after they had been enslaved by Mater. Originally, they were much weaker than their level.
Mater wanted to create a wraith on his own and made it his servant. Once it fused with the Submission Seal, it should be even more powerful than Aurora and Crow. His handiwork was simply much better than whoever did those Chaos Rituals.
However, he did have some things to consider.
Aurora was purely a long range caster.
Crow could serve as the front line but he was much more of an assassin than a warrior. He could turn invisible and dash really fast. His shapeshifting ability also complimented this.
Mater needed a pure warrior with thick skin. And these Red Keepers were going to help him with that.
Mater opened his mouth wide and spat out eight Chaos Stones.
He only had 11 Chaos Spheres left in him.
The eight Chaos Stones were picked up by Crow and placed into eight slots on the ground.
"Stay back, Crow." The black cat meowed.
"Yes, Master!"
Crow quickly jumped away, leaving the black cat with the Chaos Ritual.
"These Chaos should be enough to birth the new wraith. Before that, I need to create the Submission Seal."
Mater had a Glacial Wight, an Abyssal Abomination. The third Seal he was going to use was definitely going to be the Infernal Seal.
Mater floated to the air. Chaos spread out from within him. 1,000 Chaos Point quickly went away.
The sky changed. The sun roared. And the ground scorched.
