After the decision was made to attack the Galai fortress, the army of the Myrilia Kingdom did not waste anymore time. They prepared as fast as possible and got ready to mount an attack on the Galai fortress at the dead of the night.

Even tho many types of beastkins were more active at night, the Bull beastkins were not one of them. Just like humans they were also more active at the day time, so doing a sneak attack at night was essential to take the enemy unaware.

The raiding team would consist of the major general Sandy himself and his aide Saradina as the leaders. 15,000 elite soldiers would also join them for the raid. That was almost half of the available soldiers present inside the base. So, it was also a gamble as the defence of the city would be less compared to normal days.

Other generals and leaders were all very much against Sandy joining the raid team as he was the main person in charge. But he insisted on leading the raid team and was also very stubborn about it. So, everyone had to give up convincing him. And Elena also did not ask him to not join the raid team so others thought that it would not be too dangerous.

Actually the reason why they were able to allow so many soldiers to join the night raid was mostly because Elena took all the responsibilities of surveillance for the duration of the night raid. That freed up a lot of personnel and those free soldiers mostly joined the night raid team.

Three generals would stay inside the city to monitor the overall situation and to take charge in Sandy's absence. 5 commanders would also join Sandy and Saradina for the mission.

Their main target was the food storage in the Galai fortress. And as a side quest they all plan to kill as many soldiers as possible. They also plan to route out the whole fortress as much as possible for future use.

They knew it was impossible to capture and to maintain the fortress with such a low number of soldiers so Sandy just wanted to wreck as much havoc as possible and take revenge for the departed soldiers.

At midnight, Major General Sandy and Saradina departed with 5 commanders and 15,000 soldiers in tow. They took several hidden passages to exit the city separately and decided to meet in a predefined destination quite far away from Jysis. This was done in order to not allow the enemies to get a read on their hidden movements.

As soon as Saradina and Sandy entered one of the passage way Saradina smiled at Sandy and disappeared. Sandy also slightly smiled and wished her good luck. After that he started to walk toward the exit of the passage in a slow but steady rhythm.

After leaving the passage from where Saradina was supposed to leave the city she secretly entered a different passage. It was a specially hidden personal passage that no one knew about except a single person. At least no one knew about it until Elena appeared.

One of the five commanders who was also going to participate in this raid was called Grantham. He was a veteran soldier who had been in the battlefield for over 25 years. He had accumulated enough merits to get a position of the commander of a whole division even tho he was just a commoner in birth.

His personal prowess was also praiseworthy as he was a B ranker whose level was 210. But he had some scandals in his name like raiding a villege and raping the women there and like selling army weapons to marchants. That was the only reason why he was judged to be unfit for a promotion.

Currently he was over 50 years old and his old injuries were also getting to him. So he decided to do something before his eventual death. It would have been nice if the big thing he wanted to do was in favour of the Myrilia Kingdom. But actually that was obviously not the case.

Grantham had always loved money more than anything. He never went to a brothel as there he had to spend money on women and for him having money was more important that having women.

So when a spy of the Beast Overlord Horas asked for his cooperation in secret he immediately agreed without thinking much. The amount of money they offered was astronomical so he did not even think twice about it.

Even tho he had a rotten person his position in the army was quite high so he used that position to collect various confidential information and sold it to the Gaim Empire. Grantham was so good as a pawn that even the beast king Hapis was impressed by him and decided to increase his pay. He also gifted Grantham a valuable communication magical device to contact them any time.

He was very cautious in nature so nobody was able to find him at all before Elena's coming. Even am expert spy like Saradina was unsuccessful which was a testament to Grantham's ability. He was also able to create a personal passage leading outside under the noses of all the other high level individuals present. He was truly remarkable in this field.

Today too, as soon as it was decided that they would attack the Galai fortress, he nominated himself to be on the vanguard. To others it just looked like he was over excited to take revenge on the Empire's soldiers for killing his comrades but the actual thoughts going in his mind was a completely different thing.

He decided to join the vanguard to find a perfect chance to kill off all the members of the raid team after joining up with the soldiers of the beast king. That would be a great merit and he would also be able to earn a lot of money.

Other than that he could not activate the communication magical device inside the city as other expert mages could easily catch and decipher them. So he needed to get outside the city to send the massage but it was hard for him to suddenly disappear for some time without raising any suspicions.

So, this night rain gave him the perfect excuse to get out of the city and to send important information to the Galai fortress to earn more extra cash.

He was daydreaming about swimming in a sea of gold coins while running toward the exit of this passage way at full speed. Suddenly he felt a life threatening danger coming from behind him and he squatted down on the floor just with his instincts.

As soon as he squatted down, a small throwing knife flashed past the location where his head was just a moment before with insane speed.

Grantham felt a chill running down his spine. If his dodge was even a second late then he would already be dead. Instantly he looked behind him to find the attacker and saw a brown haired valiant lady coming toward him.

Seeing that scene a ferocious expression appeared in his face and he shot several water spears toward Saradina. But none of those spears were able to hit her as walls of sand appeared to block all the spears.

But Grantham obviously expected this and took his sword out from the sheath and thrust it toward Saradina. He even secretly used a skill called "Pierced Guard" to make the attack more lethal. Saradina used her spear to block this attack and threw another hidden knife toward him.

Grantham tried to dodge the knife but the speed of the knife was very fast and he was not able to completely dodge it. It brushed past his throat and created a small wound. Grantham did not give the insignificant wound much thought and continued fighting.

But after just 10 minutes or so, he suddenly felt very weak. His limbs were also getting sluggish and stiff. His agility had also decreased considerably. When he started fighting, he was still almost equally matched against Saradina. But now he was getting dominated by her completely.

Soon he understood the reason behind it. The knife that hit him was coated with poison. And it was not a regular poison but a specially dangerous one. He was only alone till now because his level and poison resistance was high. But still now he also started feeling the effect of the poison.

As time was running out for him, he decided to use a valuable life saving Trump Card. One good thing was that he had already anticipated that his treachery might be exposed and he had already created some secret base for him to hide. He also had all his valuables in his storage ring so he was completely prepared to run away at any time.

But as soon as he activated his trump card, a "Space Displacement Talisman" his expression changed. He found out that the talisman was not working. He soon heard a mocking laughter from Saradina and she said -
