The boss of Red Leaves Gang was a bear beastkin named Vahl. There were several different clans among the bearkins and Vahl was part of the black and white bear beastkin clan. Yes, their species was called black and white bear beastkin even tho they were basically panda.

But Vahl was very scary looking instead of looking cute. He had a large scar going through his left eye and that gave him an intimidating look. He was also quite a strong person as his level was 238 which made him one of the top ranks among the B rankers.

When he heard that there was a foxkin who wanted to borrow 2 million R, he got bewildered. 2 million R was a huge amount and it was not something that he could arrange easily. And especially if the person who was borrowing the money did not have the ability to return the money back with interest then he was obviously not going to give the money to that person.

Then he heard that she had a life saving magic item worth over 2 million he got even more bewildered as he had not heard about any adventurer gaining such a valuable item in recent times, and he had a lot of confidence in his informants.

The status of a foxkin was varied in the Gaim Empire. The Snow White Fox clan was the one and only overlord clan among the foxkin but they had fallen in troubled times in recent years. In the present times, the Blazing Red Fox clan had the highest status among the foxkin clans with a beast king currently leading them. The Brilliant Golden Fox clan was also not far behind as they also had a beast king but she was a little bit weaker than the red fox beast king. All in all, in recent times the foxkins were enjoying a very prosperous status in the society of the Gaim Empire.

According to the messenger, the foxkin named Inari was a foxkin with golden fur and there was a high chance that she might be related to the Brilliant Golden Fox clan. There was no harm in talking to her so Vahl decided to meet with her.

Elena was waiting in a small room to know the decision of the gang leader. While she was waiting she was served some tea and some cookies which would be considered as a grand reception in the slums.

After waiting for about half an hour, Elena was finally called to the leader's room to meet with him. Elena had already seen Vahl's appearance using her skill but she still became a bit surprised after seeing him in person. The scary scar on his cute panda face was really very eye catching.

"So, you're Inari. I'm Vahl. You may sit down."

"Thank You, Mr. Vahl."

"So you want to borrow 2 million R and you have a magic item which is more expensive than that. Right ?"

"Yes."

"May I take a look at the magic item ?"

After hesitating for some time Inari said - "Okay" and handed over the magic item.

It was a statue of a fat man with horns. It looked like a Fat Oni who had only eaten instead of doing training. But that figure was holding an umbrella in his hand which was very small compared to his size so it looked a bit comical. It was actually one of the magic items that Elena brought from the Riplanica Republic.

Vahl took the statue and observed it thoroughly. After analysing it he was sure that it was a high quality magic item which probably came from a different region or even a different continent. But other than that he was not sure about anything else, like the effect of the magic item. So he decided to call an expert in.

"Mister Ptah, please come in."

As soon as he said so a man in a refined dress entered through the gate. His dress really looked out of place in the slums. He was a goat beastkin and was from a family of beast lords. Ptah himself was also a very talented individual with his special ability "item evaluation". Using this ability Ptah was able to judge most items and could find out their effects.

After Vahl introduced Ptah to Inari he asked him to appraise the magic item. Ptah picked up the item roughly and appraised it with his ability. Then he broke his composed and cool character and widened his eyes in astonishment. Seeing his exaggerated reaction, Vahl got impatient and asked, - "What did you find out ?"

After composing himself Ptah replied -

"This is a magic item that could create a self repairable shield which could block the attack of an A ranker. But to create the shield one had to sacrifice a large amount of food to it. In terms of usefulness it is definitely a very impressive item. As for its value I would put it in between 2.5 million R to 3.5 million R."

Ptah was a bit arrogant as he was from a renowned clan but Vahl still trusted him when it came to judging an item's quality. So when he said that this item was worth as much it was definitely worth that much.

"Thank you for your help, Mr. Ptah. I will send your payment to the clan."

"Okay." Saying so Ptah left the room immediately.

"Miss, instead of borrowing the money why don't you sell me the item. I can pay you the highest possible prize of 3 million directly."

Now after Ptah left there was no one nearby this room currently so Elena was free to drop her act. She did not want anyone other than Vahl to find out who she truly was and that was why she did all these extra steps.

"Vahl, I have a job for you and it is an easy job. And if you complete the job properly I will not only give you this magic item, I will also give you an extra 3 million R for your trouble. What do you think ?"

This sudden change in Inari caught him off guard. But soon he raised his vigilance to the highest possible degree and asked -

"Who are you ?"

"Who am I is not important. But do remember that I'm overwhelmingly stronger than you. I might have requested you before but that was actually an order. I was just trying to be a bit polite, that's all."

While saying so Elena released a bit of her invincible aura and that was enough to convince Vahl that he got no chance against someone as strong as her. So he asked with fear -

"What do you want me to do ?"

"Nothing much. You should have already noticed that the "Dark Liberation Gang" is acting a bit weird, and there is news that a new member has joined the gang recently who had wings like the hawk beastkins. I just want you to secretly send this information to the royal informants within 3 hours and you will get your reward. Easy, right ?"

Vahl took a deep breath. Anything related to the royal family was a big deal that someone like him could not meddle in. He already knew about the information that Elena mentioned and he did find it a bit weird but he could not connect a small gangs affair with the royal family. But that was not something that he should worry about and what the foxkin asked him to do was easy enough for him to do so, he decided to do just that not anything more and not anything else. He was getting good money for doing easy work so he was happy with it.

Elena smiled slightly seeing that Vahl accepted her proposal easily and that was actually something that she expected. Now her plan was almost finished and she was confident that Vahl would do a good job. So she left the building in a good mood.

Leonhart was very excited that he was going to leave the capital city of Nyanthella tomorrow and would go on a journey to the village of Norhada. But suddenly his good mood got ruined as one of his spies brought an important news for him. That important news was also about one of the people he was willing to go to any length to kill. That enemy of his was able to run away from him which was quite shameful in his opinion.

He asked the informant a lot of questions about the information that he got as what he heard was very unexpected. Leonhart had never thought that Horas would be brave enough to come to the capital itself to hide.
