After finishing her first assassination job, Lisa went to Elena to ask about her performance but Elena told her that she would evaluate her after she would finish three jobs. So, for that reason Lisa wanted to complete three jobs as soon as possible and she tried to go to the Shadow Crow guild at that time which was late at night. But Elena stopped her and told her to rest for the night.

Even though it was not Lisa's first killing, killing someone was always mentally tiring. Especially for a young girl like Lisa. Someone would feel nothing after killing only when that person had already killed too many people to count, just like Elena. But Lisa was obviously not like that so she needed to rest and sleep to calm her mind even tho she did not feel anything serious after killing.

So after a good night's sleep, a refreshed Lisa once again went to the Shadow Crow guild the next morning. Many might think that a assassination guild would only be opened at night time, but that was not true. Just as many assassins liked to perform at night, many also preferred to perform the assassination in the morning. So the guild was active all the time.

Lisa had done more than enough research the day before so she did not need to do the same thing once again. So, she went straight to choosing another job. After searching for some time she found one job that caught her eye and she decided to choose that job.

It was a job to kill a fallen priest of the beast god temple. Fallen priests were known as some of the most heinous people in this world. A priest could only become fallen when the god themselves became disappointed in a priest. For example if a priest somehow became a bandit or a killer then that person might become a fallen priest. But if he killed someone to protect himself or someone else then that would not happen. Gods were all knowing in this world, so a fallen priest was no doubt a bad person. That was why Lisa was able to make this choice very quickly.

The name of that fallen priest was Kyle and he was once a reputable member of the beast god temple of this city. He was a brown foxkin and was not from any of the reputable foxkin clans.

Kyle was always a greedy person. But like every beastkin he was a strong believer of the beast god so he was able to become a priest without much problem. He worked as a priest for two years but he soon got bored with the modest way of a priest's life.

So, he started to take a dark path in search of his ideal life. Even tho most of the priests lived very modestly, it did not mean that they did not have any influence in the society. Actually most of the time a priest had a higher position than the common people.

No one wanted to offend a priest so, if a priest made some kind of request, one would try to fulfill it most of the time. Kyle took advantage of this mindset and started to earn money and other luxury products using his position as a weapon. He was not the only priest to do so, and many priests before him had done the same.

He would not have lost his position as a priest if he just kept his urges to check, but when he was able to earn a lot of money and everyone was respectful towards him, he became blindly arrogant.

One day he used his position to interfere in a secret duel and tried to give some unfair advantage to one of the participants. This person was the only son of a rich merchant, who gave quite a lot of money to Kyle to help his son. And in order to let the rich second generation to win, Kyle ended up ending the other young man's life.

In the doctrine of the beast god, interfering in a secret duel was a very big taboo. So, for that reason, Kyle ended up becoming a fallen priest. And after losing his god's blessings instead of repenting, Kyle became even more evil. He started to do anything and everything in order to get his luxurious life back and now he was one of the most heinous criminals of the city of Hamada.

Killing Kyle would not be as easy as killing Inov for Lisa. Inov himself did not have any fighting capability so he was quite easy to kill. On the other hand, Kyle himself was a powerful level 182 individual and he also had a lot of real battle experience.

So, for that reason Lisa decided to not be in a hurry to complete this mission. The information guilds also did not have much information about him except some basic ones. So Lisa decided to investigate Kyle herself.

After following Kyle from a distance, Lisa became sure that this job was not going to be easy. Even when she was using the dogs and cats to monitor Kyle, he was still able to sometimes feel that someone was watching him.

Other than that, Lisa also noticed that Kyle was really a vile and ruthless person. His fighting capability was also quite high. So if she could not kill him quickly then she would be in trouble.

So, Lisa decided to set some traps to catch Kyle off guard. Kyle was currently using the back alleys to go to the auction house of the city, so based on that information, Lisa deducted 3 possible locations where he had to go through in order to reach the auction house.

After that, she quickly set up traps in all three locations. Those traps were not very complex or strong but were quite effective in sapping out someone's strength. She did not count on any of the traps to kill Kyle, if those traps could weaken him a bit, that would be good enough for Lisa.

But the plan did not go according to Lisa's expectation. Kyle was able to somehow dodge two of the three traps and the last third trap was able to weaken him by only a small degree. So, not only was Lisa unable to attack him, Kyle also became more alert after getting rid of the successful trap.

But then there was a sudden twist. Kyle himself willingly went to a dead end and called out -

"I know that you have been following me for quite a long time. Now you should stop hiding like a rat and just come out."

Lisa had already expected that now Kyle would become sure that someone was following him but she did not expect him to call her out like this. So, at first she was not sure what to do. Then she decided to not make any move for the time being, as she was unsure if Kyle could pinpoint her location or not.

After waiting for sometime and not getting any results Kyle clicked his tongue in irritation. He then started to insult Lisa non-stop. But this action only solidified Lisa's belief that, Kyle did not know her location and was probably bluffing.

But just as she let her guard down a bit, Kyle suddenly attacked. He took out a ring shaped artifact which was a magic catalyser and cast a high level "Ice Coffin" spell on her.

Lisa was caught off guard and her busy froze. Even tho she was not completely incapacitated and could fight back a little bit, he true combat capabilities had dropped to rock bottom after the unexpected attack by Kyle.

And just expected, Lisa lost the exchange after less than 10 rounds and Kyle thrust a dagger at her throat. Just then, a fiery lion jumped out from Lisa's inner pocket where she kept the diary and this fire lion was able to instantly burn Kyle to his death. Then it again went back inside the diary.

Lisa was terribly tired after facing this life and death situation. And then the flaming lion came out to help her while devouring all the remaining mana and stamina she had. So she was feeling insanely tired after the crisis was over.

But she could not rest at a place like this. The sound of battle had already alerted a few people and she was in no condition to fight them off. She tried to force her tired body to move. But then she felt someone hugging her from behind and feeling the presence behind her, a relieved smile appeared on her face and she went into the world of sleep.

When Lisa wake up, it was still night. She was sleeping on the bed of the inn where she and Elena were staying. After sitting up on the bed she was Elena was sitting on a chair near the bed.

After seeing her waking up, Elena smiled a bit and handed her a bowl filled with food. Lisa also started to quickly gulping down the food as she was currently very hungry. After she was done eating the food she bowed her head to Elena and said in a low voice -

"Sorry, Elena-sensei. Even though I knew that I should not let my guard down I still made that mistake. I promise that I will be much more careful in the future and will never be overconfident."

"It's good that you understand where you went wrong. It was also hard for you to guess that he would be able to find your precise location.

That Kyle guy had a inherent skill which allowed to see the mana of any person around him. He could only use that skill three time a day and he was able to use that skill and then use a magic artifact to strengthen his spell to catch you off guard. From this experience you should learn that everyone is trying to survive in his world. So never underestimate anyone. Now do you want to give up being an assassin ?"

"No, I will count this mission as a failure but I still want to try to complete two more jobs."

"Hmm, okay, for that you need to recover quickly. Not only physically but also mentally. So take a bit more rest for now."

After that with the determination to do better, Lisa again went back to bed.
