The next few days were very calm and monotonous for Elena. She was enjoying this type of life though. She spent all her time inside her residence, except the time she spent in eating and walking around the sect for some time.

But that style of life was not uncommon in the sect. Most of the outer sect disciples spent most of their time inside their rooms cultivating and understanding the technique that they got. The only disciples who were outside their residence were mostly the ones who had all accepted some kind of mission from the sect and for that reason they were forced to come outside.

Elena also needed to complete some missions and she did not want to procrastinate on it. So she decided to go out and do two or three quick missions to complete her obligation. So for the first time Elena went to the mission hall of the outer sect.

The mission hall was a large building that was one of the busiest places inside the Emerald Palace sect. Most of the areas of the sect had a peaceful and quiet atmosphere but the mission hall was always filled with energy and excitement.

Elena at first went to one of the crystal balls that was placed at the side of the mission hall. These crystal balls were simple magic tools that could store and display information. The disciples used them to check the available missions.

After completing a mission one disciple can get contribution points and sometimes extra materials for that. Contribution points can be exchanged for many things including cash tokens, some rare material which was hard to find in the outside world and also various scriptures.

Elena started to search for good missions. She only needed to complete a single mission to complete her obligation, but Elena wanted to do a few more to store up some contribution points as they were very useful.

After searching for some time, Elena found three missions that were to her liking. Among them she dismissed one of the missions as the other two were more suitable and she did not want to attract attention by doing more missions. She could accept that one after completing the other two.

The missions she chose were hard because they needed a good amount of knowledge to be completed and as Elena was already known as a very knowledgeable person, she felt that those missions suited her very well.

The first mission was about collecting an important herb. This herb actually looked almost exactly like another less valuable herb and even a normal herbalist had a hard time differentiating them. So this mission gave quite a good amount of contribution points even though it was not a life threatening one.

The second mission she chose was to feed some pet beasts from the Haze Jade pavilion. This mission gave a lot of contribution points because the Haze Jade pavilion only kept some of the most crazy beasts. So a disciple would need very high willpower to complete this job. For that reason most disciples avoided it.

The receptionist who was registering disciples to the missions tried to convince Elena to choose a different mission as the ones she chose were quite hard and if she failed, she would need to give the sect compensation. But Elena was determined to accept those missions so the receptionist unwillingly registered her.

But she was quite a kind soul as after registering Elena she told her to wait for some time and went to the back room of the mission hall. Then after a few minutes she came out with a pile of papers and gave them to Elena. Then she said -

"Junior sister Lu, take this and read all the information written on it. Here you can find some ways to differentiate between Vibrioa and Hexios. And the other papers have some information about the beasts of the Haze Jade pavilion. Always put your own safety first, okay ? Best of luck for your mission."

Elena was very impressed by this senior sister's kindness. So she happily replied -

"I understand, senior sister Xia. Bye."

After leaving the mission hall, Elena went one of the doors that could allow her to leave the sect. The sect did have some herb gardens but this herb called Vibrioa could only be found in the wildlife. So Elena needed to leave the sect in order to get that herb. The timing for her feeding mission was scheduled for the next day. So she had the whole day to collect the herb.

This herb could be found in a mountain very close to the capital city. This mountain did have a few beasts but the strong ones mostly lived at the top of the mountain and the herb could be found at the base. So it was very unlikely for Elena to encounter any beasts.

So, after reaching the base of the mountain Elena started to search for the herb. She was able to find many Hexios but did not see any Vibrioa. So she decided to go a bit higher up the mountain and finally managed to find a single stalk of Vibrioa grass.

But to complete the mission with a perfect performance she needed to find three stalks of this grass so her searching was not over yet. She only managed to find two more stalks after searching for four more hours. This Vibrioa grass was more rare than she expected. Then she started to climb down the mountain to return back to the sect.

But at that time, she suddenly sensed that a group of cultivators were in grave danger at the top of the mountain. So Elena decided to help them out as it was unfortunate for them to encounter a Red Berserk Bear at that part of the mountain, so it was not their fault but just bad luck.

Yu Jiang and Pan Qian were good friends even though they were from a different sect. So after learning about a secret ruin, Pan Qian told his friend about that and asked for his assistance. But after entering the ruins they realised that the ruin was more dangerous than they had previously thought and went back to the capital to gather more helpers.

This time their expedition went well but still they were not able to defeat the last guardian, so all of them decided to fall back. But this time their luck ran out and they encountered a Red Berserk Bear. This beast was supposed to live in the northern part of the mountain but for some reason they encountered it here.

Actually the bear just came to this location as he smelled the smell of a rare fruit and was trying to find it. So seeing the humans it thought that they were trying to steal the fruit and attacked them. It was really very bad luck for the group of cultivators.

They tried to fight it back but were soon overwhelmed and tried to run away. But the mountain path was hard to run and they were not able to get rid of the Red Berserk Bear.

But then suddenly the bear looked in the different direction with some fear and ran away after some time. The group of cultivators were bewildered as they had no idea about what was happening. After thinking for some time and not finding any solutions, they just chalked it up to good luck and quickly went down the mountain.

After saving the unlucky group of cultivators, Elena went back to the Emerald Palace sect. Then she submitted the three stalks of the Vibrioa grasses properly and completed the first mission. The receptionist named Xia Lifang was relieved to see her coming back safely and completing the mission properly. So she congratulated Elena and asked her out for dinner.

In the last few days, Elena had become quite well known in the outer sect for two reasons. One was obviously for her great knowledge and the other reason was her love for food. Most of the disciples used the "Fasting Pills" given by the sect to relieve their hunger as that way they could spend more time on cultivation. But Elena was the oddball who never used the Fasting Pills and always ate in the cafeteria.

After seeing Elena off, Xia Lifang did some research on Elena and found this fact out about her. It was not particularly rare to find foodies in such a large sect so she did not mind it and decided to invite Elena for some delicious food.

Elena was very happy to accept Xia Lifang's proposal. Then Xia Lifang took Elena to a medium sized house in a very hidden location of the outer sect. When Elena asked where she was taking her, Xia Lifang replied that it was a surprise.

After entering the medium sized house Elena found it to be a restaurant of some sort. But the menu had a lot more varieties than the menu of the cafeteria. Xia Lifang was happy to see Elena going through the menu attentively and introduced this place to be a special restaurant.

One of the outer sect elders was also a foodie and he was very unhappy with the limited items in the cafeteria. But the sect master did not accept his proposal to make the menu better so he secretly opened this hidden restaurant with the help of his students.

Now Elena was going to enjoy the special food of this restaurant.
