The first person mentioned in the paper was a city official called Graham. He was a person who loved money above all else. So the tavern owner was confident that if hurting a forest could earn him good money, he would definitely do it.

The next person was the leader of a small criminal gang, Jouka. He was a vicious person who was willing to sell even his own race for his gain. It was said that he had some deep connection with a strong human empire and they provided him with strong magic items in exchange for elvin slaves. Dalia was planning to kill this man even if he was not responsible for hurting the forest.

And finally the last person mentioned is a traveller who came to this city just a few months ago. Michael did not know much about this man, but with his experience and instincts he judged this person to be very dangerous. That was not because he was strong but because he did not look right in the head. Some of his screws were definitely loose.

Immediately Elena and Dalia started to search for these three people. They were able to easily find out about the official named Graham as he was working in his office. They also found the gang leader, Jouka. He was in normal base ordering his subordinates around. The only person they are having trouble finding was the last unknown traveller.

This person was very secretive. Michael was not able to gather any information on him. Even basic information like his place of residence and name were also unknown.

Obviously Elena could easily find her if she wanted, but she was willing to give Dalia a chance as it was a good opportunity for her to gain useful experience. If Elena just solved everything like a super powerful savior, then Dalia would not be able to learn anything from this situation. So, if something similar happened in the future and Elena was not there then she would not be able to solve this problem.

Obviously Dalia had her own methods to search for him. She was a famous alchemist for a reason and she had many magic items. Unfortunately she had not managed to find a magic item that could find a person by the aura, but she had a compass that could point towards the general location of a person if they had something related to that person. Fortunately enough, Michael did have a few things related to that man and Dalia was able to use that to detect that man.

But that magic item could just point toward a general location and could not find the specific person. So if that person was in some kind of disguise, it would still be hard for Dalia to find him. From that magic item, she was at least able to find out that this person was in a poor residential area.

The poor residential area was a place where the elves whose financial situation was very bad lived. From that it sounded like the slums of the human nations but that would be a very unfair comparison. If the slums of the human nation were like the poor residential area, then even some of the lower grade nobles would come to live in that area. The poor in elvin standards were rich in human standards.

But even after searching that area perfectly they were not able to find a person that matched his description. So that meant, he was definitely using some kind of disguise. Elena just told Dalia to keep an eye on the whole place alongside the two other suspects. They were going to observe them for a day and will only take action again the next day.

When it was almost midnight, both the official and the gang leader suddenly moved out at almost the same time. They used various techniques that spies used to confuse their pursuers and went toward the same location, which was a small bar at the edge of the city. In the meantime Elena and Dalia also noticed a man from that poor residential area going to the same location.

That man was way more proficient in the spy techniques than the gang leader or the official. He even changed his looks twice while going to that bar. Dalia was sure he was the mysterious traveller that Michael mentioned.

In that bar, a total of 5 people gathered on a corner table. From the outside it looked like they were just a group of friends having a little fun chat, but the actual scene was completely different. That mysterious traveller was using a magic item that could perform simple mind manipulation on weaker people. It was a very simple item which would be useless against even D rankers, but any items with the ability to manipulate the mind was very valuable no matter how weak it was. The source of this magic item was very suspicious.

Other than the official, the gang leader and the suspicious man Dalia also recognised another person from that group. He was a criminal who was in the hidden tavern when she went there. Dalia tried to use her superhuman senses to hear what they were talking about, but was unable to hear anything probably because of a different magic item.

Elena then suddenly gave her a magic item that looked like an ear plug. After putting it in her ears, she was able to suddenly clearly hear what those people were talking about. She thanked Elena and listened to them carefully.

After hearing what these people were discussing, Dalia almost went berserk in rage. These scums were really the ones who were hurting the forest to create resentment. And now that for some reason, that forest had been purified, they were planning to kill the residents of the city to gather enough resentment that they needed for some kind of objective.

In her rage, Dalia lost her control over her powers for a little bit and a fiery energy radiated from her. This action was enough to alert the five people, especially the mysterious traveller. As soon as he sensed that energy, he immediately looked for the source and was able to find Dalia even though she was able to compose herself immediately.

That man was able to understand  that his identity had been exposed. He immediately took out some kind of black orb and broke it. A ugly looking larvae came out from that orb and started to grow rapidly. In just a blink of an eye it has turned from a finger sized larvae to a giant 20 meter tall larvae. Then from that ugly larvae an even more ugly looking centipedes like thing came out. It was over 30 meters long and looked absolutely disgusting.

As for its power level, it was a high tier A rank monster. Dalia needed to be on her guard if she wanted to defeat it alone. The fact that this mysterious person was carrying something with the power level of A rank was insane.

It looked like that monster had very low intelligence as it immediately started to mindlessly destroy the surrounding buildings. Dalia could not allow it to cause any more destruction so she went to fight it. A large red cauldron made of flame trapped that monster inside it. It was a special magic that Dalia had developed.

But that centipede was nothing to scoff at. It spat out some kind of liquid that was corroding the flaming cauldron. Seeing that, Dalia then started to throw large flame spears toward it but it was unable to do any significant damage. Using that chance that mysterious man tried to run away.

But suddenly someone dropped from the sky on that centipede immediately smashing it to the ground. Then that person caught that mysterious man immediately and made him faint. Seeing the figure of the person who did all that so effortlessly Dalia subconsciously muttered -

"Miss Guardian."
