In a remote part of the desert, a suspicious man clad in a sand coloured robe was doing something. The robe he was wearing was an expensive magic item with the capability to camouflage the wearer and it was also capable of isolating the presence of the person who was wearing it.

This man was holding a red orb in his hand and in front of him there was a sheet with a formation drawn on it. That formation and the orb, both were shining with a red light. But as the light of formation was continuously dimming, it looked like this man was trying to switch off this formation.

With how suspicious he looked it would not have been weird if he was a bit nervous but that was not the case. He was utterly relaxed and it looked like this man was very used to what he was currently doing. His movements were practiced and it looked like he had done the same things many times before.

That was actually the case. This man was responsible for doing this job for the last fifty years. So by now he became so used to it that he was able to perform this task even with his eyes closed and mind distracted.

But today was a bit different as he was getting observed by a person but he was unaware of that fact. Obviously the person observing him was Elena. She was currently analysing the formation drawn on the sheet and judged that formation to be a kind of summoning formation and the red orb that the man was holding was the key that could be used to activate this formation and also tk supply power to it.

So the simple reason why no one had ever managed to find the Disaster in the desert was because that monster was never present in the desert at all. This would always be unsummoned and that was the reason why no one had ever managed to find a trace of it.

There was a reason why no one had ever thought that this monster was a summon. That was because firstly to summon such a powerful monster one needed to be an A ranker. But an A ranker did not need to play this type of trick on them as they were way too powerful for that.

Other than that, a summoned monster had a link to its summoner and most of the mages would be able to see that link. This was one of the sure fire ways to differentiate a regular monster from a summoned monster. But this monster did not have any such link. There were quite a few mages who had seen and fought this monster but no one had ever seen any link on this disaster monster. That was also why no one had ever thought that this monster was not a natural monster of this area but a summon.

The formation which was responsible for summoning this monster was not really a proper summoning formation. Instead it was heavily modified for a different purpose. This formation used only the spatial translocation means of a summoning function and not the binding one. So it was basically relocating a wild monster from one place to another instead of sending a summoned monster here. The monster summoned by the formation was not under anyone's control and for that reason it did not have any links attached to it.

After understanding the whole situation, Elena took action immediately. She hid her presence and went  behind the man. Then with a well placed chop she knocked him out. Everything happened very quickly and the man lost his consciousness even before realising what had happened to him.

She needed to interrogate this person if she wanted to get any information from this man. That was the only way to get that information without relying on her broken abilities. Elena checked the formation once again and was impressed by the person who was responsible for making it.

This item had the aura of being created by a talented dwarvian craftsman. Elena knew that dwarves of this world were good in most forms of crafting and not just blacksmithing but even then she was impressed by how good their work actually was.

So Elena confiscated both of the items and carried the knocked out man to a base specially created by guild master Herald for secret meetings. This secret base was located inside a dune and was very hard to find without knowing about its existence beforehand.

Elena used a magic item given to her by the guild master to inform him that she had managed to catch one of the culprits and asked him to come to the secret base as soon as possible. After getting the message he immediately went out of his office to meet Elena in the secret base.

But he was not the only one who would be meeting this culprit. The three city leaders were also notified about this situation and they were also in favour of getting rid of this problem. So they were also involved in the creation of the plan to get rid of this seed of this trouble from their three cities.

After waiting in the secret base for a few minutes, the door of this place suddenly opened and four people entered the room. One among them was guild master Herald and the other three were the leader of the three cities. The person leading the city of Astatos was an old male dwarf who was even older than Herald. He was not a powerful fighter but instead was a high level blacksmith.

On the other hand the leader of the city of Abuelo was a young dwarf only slightly above 40 years old. He had taken the responsibility to lead the city from his father just 5 years ago and he was doing a decent job of being the administrator. As for the last person, she was a dwarvian lady who had managed to keep her cute looks even when she was close to one hundred years old. She was a talented mage and she was very close to reaching the status of a B rank mage. She was also the person leading the city of Abanis.

All of them were people whom Herald had found to be trustworthy. They were the highest echelon of the cities and they had no reason to betray it. So Herald had told them about his suspicion and also about Elena's real identity of being a S ranker.

While waiting for them to arrive, Elena had already stated the interrogation process. She had raised the temperature of a part of the room and had kept the man there with his source of water being drops of salt water falling from the ceiling. This was a terrifying torture process and Elena herself had experienced this. So she was sure that this man would soon break and would tell them everything they needed to know for just a glass of proper water after some time. She told the four people about it and in the meantime decided to tell them about the formation sheet and orb.

The mystery behind the disaster was slowly getting revealed.
