As to disappoint her teacher and to take full advantage of the opportunity that her teacher created for her, Benshui immediately started casting her spell as soon as Hetharna was done. Now in the reduced magical pressure, Benshui was able to give her all to design her spell with everything she had.
Almost all the elves had a very high affinity for their unique plant magic. Outside of elves this magic was very rare so it was not very well known among the other races but the elves had researched this magic a lot and they had managed to develop it to a very high degree.
This magic element was also Benshui's favourite and this was exactly what she was going to display in this round. A plant started to grow behind Benshui and soon became a big tree. But there were no leaves on it though and the wood was also green in colour. Instead of being a real tree, it was mostly a tree shaped magic spell created using the plant elemental powers.
Then leaves began to appear on the tree. But they were not normal leaves but were leaves made of elemental mana of ice, water and ground elements. So the spell that Benshui was using was also a combination spell of several elements.
But it was not as impressive as what Hetharna did. Hetharna had managed to even perfectly combine opposing elements but Benshui did not try to do that and only chose elements that already had good compatibility with one another. But it was a correct decision. Benshui was trying to show her magic spell here and was not trying to outdone her teacher. Knowing one's limit was also an important talent to have. And her combined spell was also very impressive without any doubts.
Very soon the tree with the green trunk was filled with leaves of blue, yellow and white representing the elements that she had used. It looked very beautiful. But this was a competition for high ranking mages. Just casting a spell that looked beautiful was nowhere near enough to survive this and Benshui knew that.
Both Theorem's and Hetharna's spells were extremely powerful and useful at the same time. Theorem's FrostOcean Titans were extremely versatile and were able to accomplish many roles. The same way, Hetharna's Yin-Yang Tornado was a powerful offensive AoE magic spell, capable of wiping out even a whole army. This same thing could also be said for Archenite, whose Fallen Sun was also an extremely powerful offensive spell. So Benshui's spells also should have a good use to stand on the same stage as them.
And she did not disappoint. This combination spell that she cast was named "Shelter of Elemental Tree" and it was a very powerful defensive magic spell. Even though Benshui was only a C ranker, she was capable of defending against a B rank mage's spell with this magic of hers. Ice, water and ground all had quite powerful defensive properties and that was the reason why this spell was so strong in defense.
...
After this amazing display of magic, the other A rank mages also got excited and came on the arena one by one to show off their spells. The excitement among them was very high but the results that they got were not so good. Most of them were able to maintain their spells alongside the S rankers. It was evident that the quality of their spells was even lower than Benshui's.
Among all the A rakers, only two mages were able to give a good performance. They managed to cast decently powerful spells and were also able to maintain it within the vast magical pressure of the S rank spells. But still Benshui's and Archenite's spells wasy more robust than theirs, so their chance of going to the finals was not very high.
Now finally it was time for the last remaining participant to cast her spell and that person was none other than the leader of the Magic Guild and the last remaining S rank powerhouse, Mastegethor Albriani. She was extremely famous among the general population because of her outgoing personality, so the whole crowd cheered very loudly when she came in the middle of the arena to cast her spell.
A large magic circle shining with many colours appeared beneath Ethor's feet. Then many butterflies of various different colours suddenly appeared out of nowhere and started to fly all around the arena. Seeing this Hetharna had a very unpleasant look on her face.
Hetharna had all the rights to get displeased with what Ethor did. This spell of hers looked very beautiful and harmless but actually it was one of the most dangerous spells that Hetharna had ever seen. For a fight among the equals, this would not be very useful but against slightly weaker and lower leveled opponents, this spell was almost invincible.
This was not an elemental magic spell that most of the elves used but it was an illusion magic. Just looking at the butterfly was enough to trap a weaker person in an illusion and that person would not even understand what had happened before he would be dead. Some people with strong will were able to somewhat resist it but in that case Ethor would just increase the number of butterflies and would make them to cover her target. For most of the time, that would be enough to get almost anyone into an illusion.
Now there were hundreds of thousands of people present in the arena and in a place like this using this illusion spell was very dangerous. So Hetharna decided to stop Ethor. Just as she was about to open her mouth, Ethor spoke up first and reassured Hetharna that she was controlling all the butterflies to not use the illusion and she was mostly doing it to give everyone some entertainment. So there was nothing to worry about as it was not dangerous.
Even though Ethor was a bit reckless, Hetharna had known her for many many years and knew that she was not the type of person to joke with such a serious matter. So she was able to relax a little bit and Ethor continued with her performance.
Not only butterflies and many other cute things like little birds and even stuffed bears appeared among the audience and started to play with everyone. The whole arena was filled with enjoyment and fun at this moment. But it would not look like such a wholesome situation if one knew that, these cute mascots were capable of killing everyone here without even doing anything or if Ethor's control became unstable for a little bit.
So with the demonstration of Ethor's "Fanatsy Dream" the sixth round came to an end with a total of five finalists.
