Restart: The World Savior's New Beginning

Chapter 409: Ch 409: A New Port City

Elena and Tomoe stayed in the Hanging City of Menuzin for a few more days before leaving it. The only place that they had visited before was the fifth level so she took a trip there with the permission of Hetharna who was currently in charge of that area. This place was quite small and only had administration buildings so other than the clean roads and busy building, there was nothing much to see here.

After leaving the city Elena took Tomoe to another city called Koula. It was also a port city but it was located in the opposite direction from the previous city that they had visited. This city was also mostly populated with dwarves and not elves. Tomoe had seen a few dwarves here and there but that was all. So it would be good for her to know more about dwarvian culture.

Obviously Tomoe's wolf and bird pets were also coming with them. Elena had given them special blessings that allowed them to access a new evolution path. So in future they would still be able to accompany Tomoe for a long time. So the four of them said their goodbyes to everyone and went to their new destination.

...

The city of Koula had a completely different atmosphere than the city of Hel Oieri. Hel Oieri was more like a severe port city but Koula was a boisterous and busy port city. This place was famous as a main business spot for the dwarves.

Instead of importing things from other continents, this place was mostly used to send dwarvian high quality items to places via the sea routes. Vampires bought items from the dwarves quite frequently and were the main buyers for dwarves of this part.

Tomoe was very excited after reaching this city as it was a completely new sight for her. The buildings were not only made of rocks, there were actually some buildings that were made completely of metal. This was a weird sight for an elf life Tomoe who was more used to houses made of bricks.

Elena did not take a room in the most expensive inn of the city as that place was expensive only because it served a lot of rare and powerful alcohol. Other than that there was nothing special about that place and actually it was quite smelly and dirty. But unfortunately almost all of the expensive and recommended inns were of this nature. It turned out that to the dwarves, their booze was more important than even their health or hygiene.

So it took Elena and Tomoe quite some time to find an inn that they were comfortable with. This process would have taken even longer if a kind elvin resident of the city did not tell them about a particular inn that the dwarves hated as it did not serve strong alcohol but everyone else loved it because of how comfortable this place was.

...

After getting their room, Elena and Tomoe went out to visit the city but they were disappointed soon as this place did not have anything that a tourist might enjoy. After learning that they would be going to a dwarvian city, Tomoe was very excited to check out the weapon shops as dwarves were well known to make good weapons. Elena had also thought that this city must have a good weapon shop.

But they were disappointed to find that was not the case. All the good weapons that came to this city were there to be sent to other continents. As there were no dangerous places around the city, adventurers were not very active here. That was why no shop sold any decent weapons.

After going around places searching for food, Elena became extremely sad. The dwarves living in the city were very incompatible with her. Asking in geh famous restaurants around the city she found out that food was basically an extra for the dwarves to go with their drinks. So no one put much effort into preparing them.

Elena was actually quite angry to see the chef cutting corners in the food as the drunk dwarves would not be able to notice this at all. That was truly a very disappointing matter for the two of them. But at least Elena was able to find some decent food at a small restaurant in a dark corner of the city. She was able to find out about this place after asking around in the neighborhood. The food there was not amazing but it was at least way better than the food that was served in other places.

...

After filling their belly Elena and Tomoe decided to visit the only place that might have something interesting in this city, which was obviously the harbour. This city was located in a very safe location. There were no powerful monsters around the city. Even the sea was quite safe in this part.

So the most dangerous thing that this city had to face was pirates. These pirates were not the righteous pirates that Selena was leading in Hel Oieri but they were truly a vicious bunch. They did everything heinous possible for a person to do and were a big threat in the city. There were even pirates who had become legends in the city.

Those pirates were not very powerful individually and even the strongest among them was only at the B rank. But their numbers were very high and that gave them a huge advantage. But still that was not their main strength.

All the battles that we fought on the sea of this area depended mostly on the ships. The ships that the city petrol used were obviously high tech but even the pirates had access to powerful technology. So by combining that with their superior numbers, they were able to reign dominant on the waters of this area.

It was not like the city petrol were helpless as they were able to defeat the pirates most of the times they faced off. But they were not able to destroy the whole pirate group completely and with their limited numbers, most of the time they were not able to react in time. So, the fighting between the city petrol and the pirates were going on for a long long time in the past.

This was the most interesting aspect of this city and was also the reason why Elena decided to bring Tomoe here. Tomoe had managed to get a slight glimpse at what was fighting in the middle of the sea but she had not truly experienced it. As Tomoe was quite interested in this kind of fighting that mostly did not depend on an individual's powers, Elena decided to let her witness that in this city.

As this would be the last city that they would be visiting together, Elena wanted Tomoe to have a lot of fun. So she was hoping that the harbour would not disappoint them again.
