Chapter 420: Ch 420: Battle Against the Seven Headed Serpent

Elena suddenly held her hand out and a magic circle appeared in front of her. From that magic circle a little dragon came out. Then to everyone's amazement, that little dragon started growing and soon it became as large as a ship. Even though Turin was still black in colour, no one would be able to associate him with the dragon that was threatening that island after seeing his cute mini form.

Tomoe jumped up and created floating platforms mid air and started to run in the air using them. Her katana was ready to be drawn and her body was clad in crackling lightning. Turin also extended his claws and teeth for the battle and then flew toward the seven headed legendary serpent with great speed.

...

The great serpent was a little sea snake who was about to be killed by a group of D rank sea monster fishes. But the goddess of daylight saved it from its death on a whim. Not only that but the goddess also gave it a divine status by making it her pet and even traveled with it for some time.

After that when the goddess created her divine realm, this snake was given a special status and was sent to the mortal world as the goddess of Daylight did not have any other familiars whose origin was related to the mortal world. The task this snake named Ousia was given was simple. It just needed to stay in a certain area of the sea and send occasional reports about how the sea was getting affected by the light of the day. This was truly a simple task and Ousia was living a carefree life.

Yoake, the Goddess of Daylight, came to spend some time with this follower of hers quite frequently and spent some time conversing about various topics with her. Once Yoake was complaining about how the goddess of Vampire was preventing sunlight from lighting a whole continent and how frustrated she felt about this situation.

Ousia had remembered that and had also learnt the blessing signature of that goddess with the intention of giving some little payback to the followers of this goddess if possible. This time it also came out after feeling the same find of aura and came out to check that out. But soon two figures started to approach it with fighting intent and Ousia became cautious after feeling some threat from these two people.

After getting closer to the seven headed serpent, Turin opened its mouth wide and mana started to accumulate there. He was planning to start the battle by using one of this strongest moves in its arsenal, the dragon breath. Obviously the seven headed serpent was not going to just accept it without doing anything and tried to stop Turin from releasing the breath.

But before it could do anything Tomoe blocked it's way. Her katana flashed and Tomoe's lightning infused sword attacked all the seven heads at the same time. All these attacks were quite powerful and were capable of piercing the serpent's robust defense so it was forced to dodge and in that process was unable to stop Turin from completing his attack.

After getting obstructed by Tomoe, Ousia got angry and started to attack Tomoe with full power. Tomoe tried her best to take care of the countless attacks that were coming in her way but she was overwhelmed after enduring those attacks for a few moments.

But that was enough as she was still able to buy enough time for Turin to complete the charging for the dragon's breath. Tomoe pushed against one of the attacking heads and created some distance between them at the perfect time when Turin also released its Dragon's Breath.

With a dark flash of light, the dragon's breath released by Turin drowned Ousia. All the water in that area got evaporated and no one was able to see what was happening inside the mist. So Tomoe and Turin waited with baited breath to see the results of that breath attack.

When all the mists were cleared, the massive form of the seven headed serpent was visible again. But to the astonishment and disappointment of Turin and Tomoe, other than a few of its scales getting torn off and a little bit of burnt skin, everything was fine. This serpent was still able to fight in full capacity and Tomoe and Turin still had a tough battle ahead.

...

After that the battle became very ferocious where both Ousia and Turin entangled each other's powerful bodies together and fought with all their might. Tomoe also assisted Turin in his struggle and connected some well placed attacks whenever she was given a chance. But still the defense of this seven headed serpent was too tough and their attacks were unable to cause any major harm.

At the same time, this serpent had very powerful and potent poisons which were dangerous even for S rank beings. Turin did his best to avoid these poisons but as he was fighting the serpent in close quarters combat, it was impossible to perfectly save itself. For that reason Turin got poisoned during the battle. He was not immediately taken down by the poison as the resistance of a dragon was impressive, but still he was slowing down with time and it would not be long when he would not be able to continue fighting anymore.

At the same time, the pressure on Tomoe increased exponentially. She was acting as the primary damage dealer while Turin was acting as the tank who was stopping the dragon from hurting her. But now Turin was unable to perform his role properly because of the increasing effect of the poison and so Tomoe was unable to purely focus on attacking the seven headed serpent.

Just as it was expected, after a few more rounds, Turin fell unconscious. The poison had become too much for him to endure and he fainted. Seeing that Turin would not be able to assist in the fighting anymore, Tomoe did her best to attract the aggression of the serpent and tried to lure it away from unconscious Turin. This was an exceptionally dangerous task but still Tomoe did that without having a second thought.

She did her best but the Ousia was just too strong. Very soon, Tomoe was unable to dodge one of the attacks with her speed and was thrown away after getting pushed by one of the heads of the serpent. With just this one well connected attack, Tomoe was badly hurt and lost all her strength to fight anymore.

Just as the serpent was about to continue attacking Tomoe and Turin to finish them off, suddenly a golden hand slapped all seven of its heads and the giant serpent sank in the sea waters.
