There was a grand temple in the middle of the stronghold of the Dhanos and having control over this temple was very important to the race. But with their superior numbers, the conservatives were in control of this temple. So for many years, the radicals were trying to take the control of the temple into their own hands.

They were quite successful in this venture too. As the radicals had a faster growth rate with their evil methods, they were able to match the conservatives even with their limited numbers and were even able to gain advantage in some areas.

But then a genius appeared in the ranks of the conservatives. That genius had 70 percent of the skills as the grand ancestor and was even able to control those skills extremely precisely. So with his talent even without using the evil means of the radical group, this person was able to become incredibly strong in a very short amount of time.
