The abandoned mine where Elena was going had many entrances and Elena chose to enter the place from an entrance located high up on the body of a tall mountain. When the mine was still active, there was a path here to bring back the ores and stones. But after the mine was abandoned, no one was there to take care of the path and it was badly damaged by various things like the environment and the monsters.

So in the current time, reaching that entrance was hard for any normal people. Only powerful people would be able to reach the spot where the entrance was. So for Elena reaching that entrance was easy. As for the reason why Elena was choosing this particular troublesome path, it was very simple. This entrance was connected to the path that led to the deepest known depth of the mine in the shortest amount of time. That was the reason why Elena was taking this route.

Elena used a flight spell to easily reach the entrance and then she started to go toward the depths where the golem was supposed to be. Even though it had been a long time since the mine was abandoned, this route was still in good condition. Elena was able to see even a few pieces of equipment that the minors had probably used in the past.

Elena had managed to gather a decent amount of news from the nearby city but a majority of the news sounded like rumours. Especially the appearance of a ghost here was very unnatural.

Ghosts were very common in this world and could be found almost everywhere. Most of the time they were souls who had not managed to enter the cycle of reincarnation because of their grudge or longings. But even the most stubborn souls could not escape the cycle of reincarnation for long and after a certain amount of time, they would still enter the cycle of reincarnation and would disappear from the world.

Other than that there was also another type of ghost that would not suddenly disappear. These Ghosts were not complete souls and instead were remnants of powerful souls who had already entered the cycle of reincarnation. These types of ghosts were born only from the departed souls of a considerably powerful individual. These Ghosts themselves were also quite powerful.

Ghosts in this world were not considered to be a part of the undead family. So light or holy elemental magic were not very effective against them. But there was a reason why ghosts were not considered to be a big deal and that because at the end of the day ghosts were still souls who should have already moved on but were unable to do so for some reason. So their existence was very unstable.

For that reason whenever a ghost came in contact with a living being who had a stable existence, they would start to immediately dissipate. Even the strong ghosts of the second type were not immune to this. That was the reason why ghosts in this world only existed in places where almost no other living beings went. And from what Elena had heard, this mine should be filled with quite a few monsters and animals now who were all living beings. So there was a very little chance for a ghost to still be here.

While thinking about this, Elena was advancing in the mine while continuously using her detection skills to stay on the right track. As this was a mine, there were many many tunnels present here and most of the tunnels were dead ends. So without a powerful detection ability, traversing this mine was extremely hard.

Just as Elena was told, soon she started to encounter various monsters. She easily killed them but the deeper she went, both the quality and the quantity of the monsters continued increasing. Elena was also able to feel a powerful source of mana in the deepest depths of the mine.

This was also exactly what Elena had expected so she was happy to see that guess was correct. Obviously the presence of a decently powerful golem was not enough to attract Elena's attention. But after going through the mission details, Elena suspected something and accepted the mission to see if her suspicions were valid or not. If they were valid then she would be able to witness something very rare in this world. And that was the reason why Elena was so happy that he suspicions were on point.

Elena increased her pace and started to quickly go toward the depth of mine. Quite a few monsters including two A rank ones tried to get in her way. But even when Elena was restricting her power to the initial S rank. Killing these monsters was as easy as picking up a leaf for her.

After travelling for about an hour, Elena was finally able to reach the depths of the mine. There she finally saw the golem that she needed to defeat. This golem's body was made from some kind of black metal and it has many gems attached to its body. As for its power level, this golem was at level 333, so even for S rankers, it was not an easy opponent.

Elena could have taken her time defeating this golem while having some extra fun but she was able to sense that the thing she was mainly here for was just behind the golem. So she decided to not waste much time on this golem. But still she did not just want to overpower the golem so she took a delicate approach to defeat it with her control over magic.

Elena was continuously coming up with new low tier magic spells as these spells were good for being as foundation for the creation of higher tier spells. So she decided to use one such spell here. As soon as she cast the spell, brightly glowing white strings appeared around Elena and wrapped the golem up completely. Then these strings started to entangle with one another at super fast speed and after a few minutes they disappeared and the golem looked perfectly intact without a single scratch.

Was that a failure. Nope, as even though the golem did not look damaged, it was not moving at all. The spell that Elena used was a kind of mind attack that has destroyed the consciousness of the golem. Normally golems had a very strong physical body but a very weak and undeveloped mind. This spell took advantage of that and Elena was able to defeat the golem in just one attack.

After putting the golem away in her inventory, Elena entered a small cave that the golem was covering. And inside the cave Elena found the source of the mana that was responsible for all her excitement. It was actually a dungeon core. Not a complete dungeon core but a seed of one.

This cave was turning into a dungeon and the golem that had suddenly appeared was actually summoned by the dungeon core seed to act as its protector. After learning about the features of the cave, Elena had already suspected something like this and now it turned out that she was right.
