After Elena agreed to help Graf out, he was overjoyed and thanked her again and again. But Elena stopped his overjoyed banter and started to discuss about the important things. First she asked him how he was planning to test his successors. In answer, Graf was unable to say anything concrete. He had quite a few ideas but he had not managed to piece them together into a full plan.

Hearing that Elena shook her head helplessly. She was surprised that, with such a scatterbrained ruling over it, the city of Imenhawk was still doing fine. It looked like if a truly good leader was in charge of the city, it had the potential to reach even greater heights.

So with that in mind, Elena decided to try a little bit harder to find a good ruler for the city. So she proposed a plan to Graf. After hearing the plan, Graf immediately agreed to it. He was aware that planning things was not his strong point, so he was actually happy that Elena helped him out with this.

After finalising the plan, Elena returned back to Lampusa's house while the city lord started to prepare for the trial according to Elena's suggestions. While planning the event, Elena got the know the other three people better who had entered the room behind Graf and after learning about them, she finally understood how the city was still functioning.

Amongst the three men, the young man who had escorted Elena was a person from a very rare demon race. He inherently had the power to judge if someone was lying or not. This type of demons were unable to have offsprings and were born directly from the heaven and earth.

So the young man named Jecob was one such individual. This race also had a very low stats and were completely unsuited for battle. That was also the reason why no one looked down in him for his low levels. With him in charge, corruption was unable to destroy the city management.

Other than him there was a lady named Verna. She was an A rank powerhouse and was strong enough to earn others respect. Even though she had not managed to reach the all important S rank so far, she was quite young and had a long life ahead. So, many people were sure that, in near future she would also become a pillar of this city as another S ranker.

But more then her potential and strength, she was extremely intelligent and methodical. So as her in the secretary position, Graf was able to avoid making mistakes in subjects he was not good at. She had also been trained under him for some time, so they had mutual respect and trust between each other. She was an important part to keep the city flourishing.

Then finally the third person was an elderly man who looked to be the same age as Graf. His name was Kyle. He had green hair and green eyes. He also had deer like horns on his head. He was also a former S rank powerhouse but his strength had deteriorated even more then Graf. Currently he was not strong enough to match even the weakest of S rankers. He was working as the head servant of the family and was Graf's childhood friend. He was also managing all the internal affairs of the family.

All in all these three were the most trusted people that worked for city lord Graf and they would also be in charge of holding the selection trial. So Elena had a long chat with all of them and she also found them to be exceptional in their roles.

Elena had two good days of rest in Lampusa's house. With her investment, not only Lampusa but more of her family members had gotten interested in the business venture. As managing 30 million was too much for Lampusa alone, she was actually happy with the help.

The previous plan that Lampusa had was to create a small company that would take it's time to build up wealth to expand further. But with Elena, they dismissed the biggest trouble that a new company had, which was the lack of funds. So they were planning to start the business on a large scale from the beginning.

This actually became a very good thing for Lampusa's family. Because of the marriage, almsot all the family members were already here. So they were able to gather enough people to help easily. So because of Elena, all the family members who had gathered together for the marriage did not need to go back with sadness after the cancellations of the marriage ceremony. And that was exactly what Elena wanted so she was happy about it.

All the family members were also very grateful to Elena for helping them and their little Lampusa out. Illivics were extremely family oriented so as soon as Elena helped one of their family members, they became eternally grateful toward her. So for the two days, Elena enjoyed the best possible hospitality from them.

Then she needed to leave Lampusa's house to observe the trial. As Elena was planning to participate in this whole endeavour, she was going to make sure that it was huge success. So she planning to be very strict with the selection. The only thing that Elena was worried about was if the the participants of the test were even good enough to get her judgement. But she could only learn about it after seeing them with her own eyes.

The venue for this trial was chosen to be beside a river located close to a forest. As, for demons strength was very important, this trial would need the participant to have a certain level of power. As Elena was already aware that the people who would be participating did not have a super high potential, she did not make the combat related trial to be too hard.

The main part of the trial was there to test the intelligence and the awareness of the participants. Both of these factors were important for a city lord to have. It was also going to test the decision making capability of the people in question. Then finally the last part of the trial would need the participant to properly handle and manage the available human resources that they would be given.

Elena was sure that if any of the potential inheritor could show their talent in any of these fields, they would have a high chance of becoming a good leader to the city. Actually even though Graf was bad at most of the things that a good city lord needed, he did have a good eye for talented subordinates and was also good at managing them. So with that speciality and his own high strength, he was able to rule over the city for so long.

So would any of the participants would be able to live up to Elena and Graf's expectations. The answer to this question would only be known after the end of the trials.
