As Raguel ran toward the walls, Elena started to observe everything with a spell called "Heaven's Eye". This spell allowed her to observe everything from the sky and the the vision was also very clear. With this, Elena saw the race called Xecsis for the first time.
They were a race with wolf like head and a very thin body. Elena would have called them warewolves if not for their extremely weak looking body. Not only that but they also did not have fingers or claws and instead had tentacles on their hands. Overall that looked very bizzare.
As for their strength, it was not that good from the standard of a race living in Valhalla. Their average level would be below the S ranks and the strongest person that Elena was able to see was just level 490. It was quite underwhelming.
From this, it looked like the vampires should not have any trouble taking care of them as even a single vampire was able to easily take care of hundreds of the Xecsis. But soon Elena noticed why the vampires were having so much trouble with them even with their superior strength.
The number of Xecsis that attacked the city was insane. It was at least 10 times more than the vampire population of this city. But that was not all. Some of the Xecsis immediately self destructed after getting close to the wall of the city. The amount of energy generated from this self destruction was quite high relative to the power level of the person who performed it.
These Xecsis could come back to life even after this but the walls of the city that was damaged by the blust and the vampires who were injured or even killed could not do the same. For this reason, with each self destruction, the vampires were suffering losses after losses.
The shadow guards of the city and a few soldiers guarding the walls immediately started to attack back mostly with magic with the intention to destroy them before they could self destruct themselves. But even then, several of the Xecsis still managed to do just that with the advantage of their superior numbers.
After reaching the wall, Raguel also started to participate in the attacks. His blood magic spells had very high area of effect and it was excellent for taking care of large numbers of Xecsis who were individually not that strong.
With that, the battle situations became somewhat stable for the vampire side. Several of the shadow guards acted as a shield for the vampire soldiers. Just like that, the attacks lasted for only an hour or two. But the amount of damage that was dealt to the city in that short span of time was quite large. There was no casualty on the vampire side, but the amount of monetary damage that they had suffered was immense.
Elena just watched the whole thing without doing anything to support the vampires. The main reason for that was the because, throughout the whole battle, none of the vampires were in danger of dying even for once. Then she saw Raguel returning looking even more exhausted than before.
After coming to Elena, he told her that they had managed to safely take care of the attack for the time being and the Xecsis would not be attacking them again for at least 24 hours. Elena nodded her head after hearing this. It looked like the item used for revival had this time limit.
Then Raguel told Elena that their queen had invited her for a meeting. As Elena had already expected this, she agreed to this invitation and followed behind Raguel. On the way, seeing that Elena was a good listener, Raguel complained to her that even after the battle was over, as the supreme commander, he would still be very busy with a lot of paperwork because of the damages that the city had suffered.
After taking Elena to the castle located at the middle of the city, Raguel handed Elena over to a maid working in the castle and went back to his work. He was too busy and had no time to spare. So after Raguel, the maid named Laska took the duty to escort Elena.
...
Soon the maid took her to an underground chamber. This was a very interesting place to invite a guest for a first time meeting. Then as Elena entered the chamber, she found herself in a separate dimension.
It was a small secret realm with black grass and a river overflowing with blood.
In that black grassland, an expensive looking table filled with various snacks and tea was present. It looked very out of place in a scenery like this. On that table, an elegant looking lady with pink hair and dark red eyes was sitting with a smile on her face. She had a voluptuous body and mature charm.
She smiled at Elena and invited her to sit down. Elena did just that and took a sip of the tea. Then she looked at the lady and said -
"So it's one of your avatar, huh ? My sweet little vampy goddess."
Hearing that, the mature lady started giggling. Then she said -
"Yes, big sis Elena. This girl here is one of my avatar in Valhalla. I have never expected that through her I will get to have a sudden tea time with you. Not anywhere normal but inside a dream realm. Fufu."
Yes, even though this was a dream, with her divine ability as a goddess, the great goddess of the vampire had managed to infiltrate this dream realm to have a tea party with Elena. As for the giant elders outside, currently they were seeing an illusion where the vampire queen was having a very normal conversation with Elena.
After having a fun time talking with Elena, the vampire goddess told her that to get the last ring, she needed to take care of the Xecsis race problem. She could wipe them out or could negotiate with them. As long as they stopped attacking the city, it would be a mission well done for Elena.
Elena nodded her head hearing this. Actually by tracking the souls of the dead Xecsis, Elena had already figure out the location of the revival item. So this whole process was not going to take too much time. This trial would have been extremely difficult for most demigods because soul was a very hard thing to master. But that was not the case for Elena as she had an insane advantage with her mastery over souls.
Actually there was a very complicated way to solve this problem even without the knowledge of souls but as Elena could do it in the simple way, why would she take the hard route. So after having a very enjoyable conversation with the vampire goddess, she left the underground chamber with the intention of perfectly clearing this trial.
Was she going to kill all the Xecsis by destroying the revival item or was she going to negotiate with them with her superior strength ? Only Elena knew the answer to that.
