Song Yuan was very nervous and a bit scared. He had never faced such a terrible opponent before. If she threw one of those insanely strong magic spells again then he was not sure if he could block them with his mages and barrier magic tool. He had used a communication magic item to ask for help from the Danclesiv army. So he wanted to buy some time for the help to arrive.

Elena arrived close to the fortress and scanned the whole place. She was able to easily see atrocities that were happening inside the fortress. In the other sub-strongholds there were no captives present so she was able to use a large area of effect spells to completely destroy them but she couldn't do with the main one with several innocent captives.

As she was thinking what to do as the monsters were attacking the fortress in hordes. She suddenly heard the leader shouting at her -

"We surrender! We surrender! Please stop attacking. I have a lot of gold and magic items in our treasury. I am willing to give you everything just please don't kill me."

Elena became interested as could easily see that the leader was doing this act to buy time and to lessen her guard. But she was also interested to see the reinforcement that the Danclesiv kingdom's army would send. In the meantime, she could just save all the captives and she was also interested in the man named Godwin, who was the pillar of the bandit leader's belief. So she accepted their surrender and held the monsters off.

She entered the fortress and her first order was to release all the prisoners. It didn't take much time for a large number of bandits to collect all of the prisoners even tho they worked slowly. Elena didn't mind it and just kept an eye on all the prisoners. If the bandits tried to do anything to any of them she would then act. But fortunately, to buy the maximum amount of time, the bandits didn't do anything unforeseen.

Elena collected all the prisoners and sent them to the city using the monsters as escorts. Their prisoners were not fools and they understood that the monsters were not their enemy so they didn't make any fuss.

After all the prisoners were taken care of Elena set her sight on the grand prize, which was the treasures collected by the bandits.

Here, Song Yuan didn't behave very well like last time and he tried to lead Elena to a fake treasury which had a minimum amount of treasures. He also prepared the excuse of spending a lot of money on magic items.

But Elena knew the location of the real treasury, so she asked -

"You really want to die, don't you ?"

"N-no that's not the case. I will give everything I have please don't kill me."

"Really?"

"Yes"

"So, why are you taking me to the fake treasury?"

Blood drained from his face and he asked in a shaky voice -

"H-how did you know ?"

"There is no need for you to know that."

Saying this Elena killed all the other bandits instantly. The person she was waiting for had arrived. Godwin was here.

BUM... CRUSH

One part of the wall was broken down and a man with a very muscular physique and a bold head entered the fortress. He was wearing a dress made of martial artists. His posture, atmosphere and everything screamed an honorable martial artist.

After entering the fortress he slightly bowed towards Elena and then at Song Yuan. He spoke in a booming voice -

"I'm Godwin Fredikscaka, the special unit advisor and a S rank individual. I can see that you just killed all the members of this bandits group. I did come to rescue them but you left me with no choice."

Saying so he attacked Elena instantly. His full body lit up in a grey, silvery light and his physical strength and hardness increased by a very high margin. Song Yuan also took advantage of the situation and took out a sword from a sleeve and shouted -

"Immortal Sword Art: Heaven Crushing Sword"

Elena took out a katana and dodged Godwin's attacks and parried Song Yuan's attacks. They did not stop their relentless assault and kept on attacking Elena but she was able to dodge and parry everything. After fighting for a few minutes she said -

"You two are just not good enough for me to get any gain from fighting you. Even tho two of you are strong it is time to end it."

Godwin was obviously a strong person. He was level 315 and was quite skilled in real combat. As for Song Yuan, he was level 257 but he knew the legendary sword art of the Tang Dynasty, Immortal Sword Art. So his fighting capabilities were quite high.

But for Elena they were nothing special. She decided to end this fight by using a move that she created while thinking about a tragic fight she once had. This was one of the moves she created just after reaching the 'king' rank in sword arts.

"Reminiscence: Moonlit Night Under the Starry Sky"

Her blade was shown with a gentle silver glow. That glow was very dim, it almost looked like the glow could vanish anytime but it never did. Looking at this dim glow one could even feel the sorrow, loneliness and regret. This was a technique Elena created while remembering about the last moonlit night before that tragic battle. This move later reached the 'peerless' rank. It needed a katana to use the move and it had three parts - 'Reminiscence', 'Melancholy' and 'Desolation'.

The result was obvious. Even before the two of them could understand anything both of them were filled with a sense of sadness and soon they saw their headless bodies with their own eyes. This scene was enough for them to realise that their lives had come to an end. But they didn't feel any pain or any sadness after realising this. All they could think in their last moments was -

"Ahh, that was a beautiful sword but why was it filled with so much sadness and regret."

That was all they could think as they breathed their last. Just like that the infamous bandits group called "Deadly Plague" came to an end by the hands of Elena.

After that everything was simple. She took all the treasures in the fortress and took Song Yuan's head as proof of subjugation. Then she even escorted a guild employee who officially made sure that the bandit's group was wiped out. Elena was able to complete her third rank up mission with it. So, she only had her second mission related to investigation left.

She was quite fond of the guild master of this city so she spent some time with him before leaving the city. She was not going to return to the capital of Myrilia Kingdom. Instead she would go straight to her next mission destination, the city of Xamanetra which was a semi-independent city at a desolate reason of Myrilia kingdom.
