As the viper looked at Azusa, it's red eyes shined for a brief moment and immediately Azusa felt a bit dizzy. Taking that opportunity, the viper tried to swallow her but fortunately, Azusa was able to get back to her senses rather quickly and managed to dodge the attack.

The attack that Azusa had suffered was a spirit or soul based attack that completely bypassed her strong physical defenses. Actually, even most common soul based attacks had to withstand the resistance of the flesh before reaching the soul. But the attack that the snake had used had managed to completely disregard this resistance. It was actually quite an impressive skill.

As Elena had told her that this trial was primarily not based on fighting, Azusa was not very serious when she had decided to engage this snake in battle. But after seeing that the very first move used against her was a really strong one, she decided to change her mind. The battles here was definitely not going to be easy.

The lesser concepts that Azusa had learned so far were useless against this monster. So to defeat this serpent, she needed to fight like her regular self. So she started using her favourite weapon, the double sided genesis grade spear and fought against the enemy head on.

After clashing with the snake a few times, Azusa used one of her finisher move, a spear art called "Nightfall Requiem". Immediately after that, the serpent's head got seperated from its large body.

But before Azusa could celebrate, suddenly she found herself face to face with the red glowing eye of the serpent and the head of this serpent was still attached to its body. Now that the dangerous eye skill of the serpent had struck Azusa from a very close distance, the impact that she received on her soul was much greater than before. So much so that she almost fainted.

Again Azusa still managed to come back to her senses rather quickly but immediately after that what greeted her now awake eyes was the white scale filled tail of the serpent. Azusa was hit by it directly and was sent flying away.

Immediately after that happened, Azusa used a skilled called "Instant Transition" to correct her broken posture and got ready to start the battle again. She could not allow the rhythm of the battle to fall under the snake's control. If that happened, Azusa would be in even more trouble.

Now, Azusa was extremely cautious while facing the white scaled red eyed serpent after falling for its moves twice. So she slowed down the pace of the battle and mostly focused on analysing the powerful enemy before her.

After about an hour, Azusa had managed to figure out almost all the moves available to her opponent. During this time, she had came to the death's door several more times but at all those times, she had somehow managed to save herself and had not died even once.

The most troublesome and powerful attack method available to this serpent was its eye attack which could target the soul directly. But all the scales on the snake's body also had poweful mental suggestion giving abilities. This ability was the reason why Azusa had mistakenly wasted a trump card of hers on a fake.

Other than those two primary abilities, the snake obviously had severel secendary ones. But they were not really very effective or important for this battle. Just the combination of first two skills was able to almost bring Azusa to her death. Even after finding out the trick behind this, this combination of attack was still hard to defend against.

That was why Azusa did not become hasty and took her time. Only when she was able to make sure that her next attack was definitely going to hit the real body of the serpent, she used another one of her trump card called "Yin-Yang Overdrive".

This time, Azusa had made the correct decision and this attack tore through the body of the serpent. It destroyed both the inside and the outside of this super strong beast. It turned out that the VIT of this serpent was not that strong so it died with just this one powerful attack. Even though the serpent had three revival chances, this single attack wasted all three of them but was still unable to revive the snake.

Even though Azusa managed to win the battle without losing her life even once, she was not happy with the results. The abilities that this serpent had were not really too complex on their lonesome. But the combination of them had almost brought her to the knees. The direct soul attack made her mental defenses weak. This allowed the suggestion to take effect. And then the serpent used the suggestions to land more soul attacks to kill her.

From this Azusa again found that she still needed to improve her mindset during a battle. She did not lack moves or power in the last battle but she was too hasty at the beginning. That was main reason why the battle had become much harder than what it should have been.

After this experience, Azusa became a lot of serious. Previously, she still had a slight mindset of being here for a little vacation as this was her big sister Elena's mini world. But now, she was going to tackle this place while thinking of this as a challenging trial.

With the death of the serpent, the first quest was completed with a A rating. Azusa then stored the body of the serpent and started traveling toward the village again. But before that, she did not forget to show the little bear cubs the dead body of the serpent. Immediately she got the notification that a hidden condition was met and the clearance rating of the quest "Revenge for the Bear Family" went from being A to S.

On her way to the village, Azusa did not encounter any more sudden quests. She was sure that the forest still had more quests to find but she was planning to steadily search for them after finding a base in the village. So she did not worry about it for the time being.

The village itself was very common. Most of its buildings were houses of the villagers. Other than that, there was a church like place that offered free treatment and several small shops selling various things. That was all.

What interested Azusa most in the village was the fact that it had several of her big sister's inside it. The statue of the goddess in the church looked like her big sister. The nun present in the church looked like her big sister Elena. The apothecary buying and selling herbs looked like her big sister and even the village elder was her big sister dressed like an old man.

Actually as Elena was just dressed like an old man and had changed the colour of her hair to white but she did really look old. So the whole thing actually looked a little comical. But all these big sisters only repeated the same lines they were speaking while trying to hold back their laughter. So even though Azusa was sure that all of them were sentience, she was unable to have any productive conversation with them.

But after reaching the village, Azusa had gotten a ton of quests by just talking to the people walking around. So now it was time for her finish those quests one by one.
