My Happy Dragon Life With Supernatural Girls

Chapter 31: 31. Mommy’s Little Surprise.

Vivian ended the first part of the story and the illusions turned to mist before fading away completely.

However, the oak tree remained and the cool breeze continued to caress both Aster and Lily's faces.

"So the First Great War ended just like that?" Lily asked and Vivian nodded.

"Yes, dear."

"But what about the demons and their revenge?" Aster asked.

"The demons saw no reason to carry out their revenge anymore. All they had wanted was for one of the other four spirits to confess to killing Ignis, but since most of the spirits were gone, the demons had no choice but to return home."

Vivian continued. "Moreover, they had lost thousands of their kind during their quest for vengeance, so the demon lords decided that it would be better to stop the war before their losses increased even more."

"But what about the angels? Didn't they lose hundreds or thousands of their kind too?"

"They did."

"Then why didn't they try to come back for revenge after losing so many of their kind? They still had Neriah's weapon right? Did they use it to start a Second Great War?"

Vivian giggled and stroked his head gently. "No dear. The Angels couldn't do that."

"Why not?"

"Neriah's weapon wasn't any ordinary weapon that you can just see lying around. The last angel who used it was killed because it not only destroyed everything within its radius, but also killed the one wielding it."

"Yikes." Aster couldn't help but silently whisper in shock.

"I know, right?" Vivian giggled softly. "In essence, using that weapon destroyed allies, foes, and the wielder himself, so the angels decided that it was safer to lock it up where it would never be seen or used again."

"After that, everyone returned to their continent, and the First Great War ended just like that, right?"

"Yes, that is correct."

"So, what could have caused the Second Great War? Shouldn't everyone be living in peace, especially after losing so many of their kind?"

"Well, that's because…" Vivian began to explain but was interrupted mid-sentence by a knock on her bedroom door.

Vivian completely dispelled the illusion before turning toward her bedroom door.

"Come in." She ordered and Hallie stepped into the room.

"Forgive me, Your Majesty, but the Demon Lord Council just delivered a message. A meeting will be commencing in the next few hours and they want all demon lords to attend this meeting."

Hearing this, Vivian furrowed her brows before getting up from her bed.

It had been centuries since the Council had requested a meeting, so if they were planning to hold a meeting right now, it meant that what they wanted to discuss must be of utmost importance to their kingdom and continent at large.

"Thank you, Hallie. Get the bicorns ready, I'll be joining you shortly." Vivian said to her before turning toward her two beautiful children.

"I'm sorry my little dragons, but Mommy needs to head out now."

"How long will you be out?" Aster asked with a worried look on his face.

He still had a couple of questions he wanted to ask her but he understood that the meeting with the other demon lords must be really important.

So Aster simply decided to find out how long their meeting would last.

"Just for a couple of hours and Mommy will be back before you know it."

"But what about our stories?" Lily asked and Vivian planted a kiss on her forehead.

"Don't worry, Mommy will be back before sundown. But while I'm gone, Sara will be here to continue from where I stopped, okay?"

"Sara? Is she here? I haven't seen her all day, though." Aster looked around the room for Sara but he still couldn't find her.

However, right after he gave up, he suddenly felt a cold pair of hands hug him from behind as Sara materialized behind him.

"Ehehehe~ Did His Highness miss me? You sounded like you did." Sara giggled as she held him even tighter, ignoring the fact that her beautiful mountain peaks were pressed against his back.

"Huh? Where have you been all morning?" Aster asked instead of answering her teasing question.

"I was carrying out a few errands for Her Majesty."

"Oh, I thought you had gone hunting for the Jackalope without me."

"Oh, I would never do that. We promised to do it together, right? And I intend on keeping my promise."

"Yeah, I trust you. I guess I was just worried for nothing."

"It's fine, Your Highness. It makes me happy to see you miss me though. You did miss me, right?"

"Of course."

"Ehehe~ I've missed you too." Sara rubbed her cheek against his, smiling and giggling as though she hadn't seen him in years.

Of course, the task that Vivian had instructed her to carry out, was none other than the photos she had been taking since yesterday, but there was no way Sara was going to reveal that so soon.

For now, it was a precious secret between Vivian and her, and both of them were determined to leave it that way.

After all, this way, they would always be able to get good candid pictures without Aster or Lily suspecting anything.

"Alright, Mommy will be on her way now. I'll see you two later today, okay?" Vivian waved them goodbye as she left the bedroom and her children waved back to her as they watched her leave the room.

Walking down the long corridor with Hallie trailing behind her, Vivian snapped her fingers and her nightgown shimmered and turned into a near-blinding light before transforming into a long, regal dress.

"Hallie?"

"Yes, Your Majesty?"

Ever since her subjects had asked for her permission to give Aster and Lily gifts during the homecoming festival, Vivian had become interested in the idea of setting up a celebration for her two beautiful dragons.

And since Vivian wanted the homecoming banquet to be ready by tomorrow, she had instructed Hallie and Cara to handle all the preparations.

She had even instructed them to send invitations to the other demon lords and nobles across the continent as well.

"How are the preparations coming along?"

"They're coming along great! Everything is working right on schedule. Things are moving smoothly and we've finished most of the major tasks."

"Having Cara has been a huge help as well. By this time tomorrow, your children will be enjoying the greatest banquet the kingdom has ever seen."

"Good, I can't wait to see the look on their faces when they see how great their party will be." Vivian smiled cutely as she hurried over to her meeting.
