Others Awaken SSS-Rank Classes, I Summon Calamities

Chapter 57: Horde of Birds

Time passed swiftly and in the blink of an eye, Arthur and the group had cleared more than ten dungeons in the surroundings.

They still didn't find anything suspicious, but their eyes were still filled with caution.

The dungeons here, although E rank, could rival some of the D rank dungeons they had encountered in the past.

This could be attributed to the mysteriousness brought about by whoever was responsible for the dungeons in the first place.

Arthur walked under the lead of the two and finally reached the eleventh dungeon they could find.

Without hesitation, he and Titan entered it while the others were being led toward the remaining dungeons.

Although Arthur was bothered by the sheer amount of dungeons present, he wasn't too worried since his strength was increasing at an alarming rate and so was that of Nephis and Titan.

Titan hadn't broken through to level 16 yet, but Nephis was already at level 14 since she was the one killing everything they encountered, causing her strength to increase drastically.

Arthur felt that with a few more dungeon clears, Nephis would reach level 15, and he couldn't help being curious about what kind of physique she would awaken.

Just as Arthur stepped into the dungeon, the surrounding space stirred and a fluffy white figure appeared in his grasp.

Before Arthur could realize what was happening, the figure warped itself around him and let out a soft purr.

"Little guy?" Arthur was astounded as he rubbed the little fox's head. "You finally decided to come out huh?"

Arthur had even started to get worried. It had been a long time since the little fox stepped out of the summon space like it usually did.

The little fox used one of its tails to slap Arthur lightly on the head, causing him to yelp in pain.

His head was bald and the sound of the slap was extremely loud.

"Damn. What was that for?" Arthur was instantly filled with fury as he stared at the little fox.

However, seeing the cute eyes of the little fox, his anger melted slightly.

"Little guy, are you hungry?" Arthur asked.

The fox immediately shook its head without hesitation.

Arthur was speechless.

"Why didn't you tell me you were hungry like you usually did before? Where did you learn such manners, hitting your elders like that?"

Arthur pointed at Nephis and Titan, who were standing respectfully behind him, and reprimanded, "Learn from your brother and sister. Do you see them being disrespectful?"

Noticing the little fox's aggrieved expression, Arthur rubbed his bald head, feeling speechless.

He let out an exasperated sigh and couldn't be bothered to deal with the little guy.

"I'll feed you in a bit. Let's see if the beasts here are edible."

As Arthur finished speaking, he glanced around and took in his surroundings.

He had appeared on a patch of land that looked like an island.

Around him were floating and drifting clouds.

"Huh? What's the situation?"

Dumbfounded, Arthur stepped forward when he felt the ground beneath his feet sink in.

His heart skipped a beat when he felt a figure gripping him.

It was Titan.

Using his space element, he had appeared at Arthur's location in an instant and retreated within the same second so Arthur wouldn't be injured.

Arthur glanced around and noted his surroundings once more, this time with even more caution.

From afar, he heard a whooshing sound.

Raising his head, he noticed a creature akin to a bird approaching at lightning speed and rushing in his direction.

Although Arthur was dumbfounded, he still acted in time and dodged to the side.

But he was still a tad bit late, and the creature ended up grazing his bald head with its claw.

Just then, there was a slight ripple as the creature's head split apart from its body before collapsing to the ground, lifeless.

"Damn," Arthur commented and glanced at Nephis with a grateful smile.

Although he would have come out unscathed from the attack, his precious bald head might not have been as safe.

Nephis smiled sweetly at Arthur's grateful look, a peculiar feeling stirring in her heart.

The two turned to glance around when they heard a terrifying whooshing sound.

More than hundreds of birds were rushing toward them from all directions.

Arthur's eyes widened in alarm.

If all these birds circled them, there was a chance they might not survive.

With shock on his face, he hastily took out his sword.

"Hey, little guy, you might wanna head into my summon space in the meantime. Things are about to get dangerous and I wouldn't want you to get injured." Arthur cautioned the little fox on his shoulders.

The little fox lazily opened its eyes to glance around, then its eyes widened in shock upon noticing the dense clusters of birds.

Damn, why did it have to appear at this exact time.

The fox's heart screamed in alarm and without hesitation, the space around them rippled slightly.

Instantly, more than five birds vanished.

"Huh?" Arthur stared dumbfoundedly at the sight.

"Where did you send them?" Noting that it was definitely the little fox's doing, Arthur was speechless.

So even the little guy had some measure of fighting strength?

Arthur was a little excited, and taking advantage of the opportunity, all three of them immediately began their attack.

Arthur brandished his sword like a warrior, swinging it forward.

His sword was now nearly as fast as a streak of lightning and in a flash it sliced into three birds, cutting them down into pieces.

Arthur didn't hesitate in the slightest as mid air his blade spun around, drawing a horizontal arc and claiming the lives of more than five more beasts.

The dungeon creatures were still numerous, however.

But Arthur wasn't panicked.

To his right side, where the most beasts were gathered, was Titan, and to his left side was Nephis, her silhouette moving like a ghost.

One moment Nephis was lightly stepping on the ground, and the next her dagger was already slicing another beast into pieces.

She flickered like a ghost, appearing all over the battlefield and slaying all the beasts she encountered.

Her speed was far greater than Arthur's as she cut apart beasts with ruthless efficiency.

In barely a few seconds, she had dealt with more than thirty birds.

However, Titan, as the eldest calamity, was something else entirely.

His towering form crackling with lightning, he swiftly moved to attack, his golden sword descending like a divine hammer.

Bang!

A terrifying explosion resounded as Titan's massive golden sword, still gleaming with lightning, cleaved more than thirty beasts in one go.

The lightning went on to electrocute them, turning some into skeletons within mere moments.

After making such a destructive move, Titan slashed his sword to the right once more.

Bang!

Another terrifying collision and more than thirty birds were dealt with.

Meanwhile, the little fox on Arthur's shoulders was also active as its tail wrapped around Arthur's neck and swayed around while it used different attacks.

Arthur glanced around occasionally, noticing a few beasts vanishing.

He was curious where they were disappearing to, but he didn't let his curiosity get to him as he immediately made his move.

Within mere moments, a heated battle was ongoing.

Subconsciously, without knowing it, Arthur was moving away from the safe spot as he advanced.

His feet suddenly sank into the ground just as he was about to slice off a few beasts.

Clang! Clang! Clang!

Taking advantage of Arthur's mistake, as though they possessed intelligence, the beasts pounced on him without hesitation and were about to slaughter him to pieces, turning him into minced meat.
