As the count was resting lying down while not moving, suddenly he felt a fatal danger. Immediately he moved his tired and injured body and jumped to the side.
The location where he previously was, an arrow appeared. If he had not moved then his arrow would have pierced his thighs.
Even though his main boosted attribute was not perception, as a high level Official Knight, his perception was naturally very high. That was why he had managed to detect this very sudden and unexpected attack.
The count immediately understood that someone was targetting him and it was not a monster but a human. So he quickly grabbed his axe and got up on his feet again.
As he looked toward where the arrow had came from, two more arrows came toward him. But he managed to block them with his axe.
After that no more arrows came at him but a person clad in pitch black clothing appered before him. This person threw away the bow that was in her hand and took out a pair a dagger.
Those two daggers immediately attracted the attention of Count Falgur. They were something that he had spent a fortune to find.
Not just any weapon was capable of piercing the flesh of a powerful monster like the Earth Overturning. A knight could use their life force to brute force this matter but having a better weapon was always advantageous.
That was why he had spend a huge sum of money to buy these daggers made of a special metal that had been modified to become something special. They were extremely sharp and very durable.
Seeing this item in his attacker's hands, the count immediately understood that someone was targetting him from the very beginning. After his knights had run away when the two Earth Overturning Great monsters had appeared, this person had probably killed and looted them.
And now, this black clad individual had even managed to track him down and had appeared before him. Was this person an absolute fool or was this person confident in matching him, a high level knight in strength ?
The count did not know what was the correct answer. But there was one thing that he knew. He just needed to kill this fool here and everything would be fine.
...
With this in mind, the count decided to not be passive and made the first move. Even though he was tired, his body was still moving at a very high agility.
But Weiss managed to easily dodge his attack. When if came to agility, there was no way that Count Falgur could match Weiss. That was her specialisation.
But the count was a very experienced fighter. So his opponent being faster than him was something that he had already expected. So he did not care at all that Weiss had managed to dodge his attack and changed the trajectory of his swing at the very last moment.
This time, Weiss had no ways to dodge this attack. So she crossed the daggers in her hands and parried the heavy axe attack.
Even though Weiss was pushed back a little, she still managed to perfectly parry the count's attack without taking any damage.
From this she immediately managed to find out that currently the count was definitely in a very weakened condition. If that was not the case, then the last attack that she blocked and parried would have flown her away.
...
After dismantling the dead Earth Overturning Great monster and taking all the valuable material, Weiss had started it search for the count's presence.
Even though he had managed to fool the two mighty Earth Overturning Great monsters, he had not managed to fool Weiss too.
Even though the Earth Overturning Great monsters had a very powerful organ capable of finding the life force of a person, their actual perception attribute was not very high.
That was why even though the count had managed to hide himself from them but Weiss was still able to track him down quite quickly.
She had also seen the place where Count Falgur had been attacked by several monsters. And seeing the amount of blood that he had lost there, Weiss was sure that he was currently badly injured.
This was the best opportunity that Weiss would ever get to take care of the count. If he managed to return back to his territory, Weiss was sure that he would use the monster stone to quickly strengthen himself. In that case Weiss's chance of killing him would go down by a huge margin.
So even though Weiss was not sure if the count had any more of those magical item left on him or not, still she decided to take the risk and attack him.
If she could kill the count and get her hands on the monster stone of the Earth Overturning Great monster, then Weiss could confidently say that this expedition had ended perfectly for her.
So after making up her mind, Weiss had immediately attacked the count. She had not really fought too mang battles during this whole incident, so her current form was truly perfect. This would without a doubt be the best opportunity of her life to get rid of a powerful opponent like him.
...
Weiss and the count fought for a few minutes and exchanged dozens of blows. And even though it looked like the count had an advantage against her, Weiss was completely unharmed from those blows and the count was looking more tired than before.
The count was trying to end this battle as soon as he he could. For his injured body that was the best possible outcome.
On the other hand, Weiss was using those blows as probes to see how strong the currently injured count was and if he had any more tricks left or not.
If the count turned out to be stronger than what she had expected, Weiss would not mind taking advantage of her super fast agility to run away from him.
But from the development of the battle so far, it looked to Weiss that there was no need for that. The count was nowhere near his peak form. But still she did not loose her guard and continued to observe the count with a very keen eye.
That turned out to be a very good decision for Weiss. While still attacking her just like before, suddenly the count used a special technique. His axe suddenly became faster and almost cut Weiss in half.
Fortunately as Weiss was keeping an close eye on his movements, she had managed to notice this anomaly. So she had managed to somehow dodge this attack and the only thing that was cut was her clothing and little bit of her skin. This was a minor injury for any knight.
This wide swing had made the count to lose a little bit of his balance, so Weiss tried to take advantage of that. But the count managed to block almost all her dagger thrusts and only took a little bit of damage.
But Weiss continued to attack the count without holding anything back. She was trying to prevent the count from regaining his balance back.
But as the count was getting more and more off balance, to forcefully push Weiss away and to get some space, the count used another one of his special technique. Suddenly his body blust out with very bright green life force and his attributes increased by quite a bit.
Weiss managed to parry one of his attacks while he was in this state but in the process of doing it, she was thrown backwards at a very high velocity and collided with a tree.
Then before Weiss to stabilize herself, suddenly the count came at her with another extremely powerful axe swing which was faster, stronger and mightier than before.
Weiss tried to move away but she did not manage to dodge this attacks perfectly. So right side of her face received a massive cut and it got rid of her mask too.
Seeing Weiss's face, even in this very dire situation, the count became distracted. That was because he had managed to recognise who she was even with the massive cut on her face.
As currently Weiss needed to focus completely in the battle, she was unable of use any other techniques. So currently she was giving off the aura of her actual realm and her face was also her natural one.
But Weiss did not think even a little bit about her identity being exposed. If she could kill the count here, this would not matter at all. So instead of mindlessly worrying about this matter, she was more interested in taking advantage of this chance.
So she did exactly that and managed to plunge one of the daggers deeply in the count's thighs. She was kicked back after this and puked up some blood. But this trading of injures had been overwhelmingly to her favour.
As the count tried to pull out the dagger from his thighs, Weiss did not give him the time. Another similar dagger had appeared in her hands and she came at the count with the same intensity from before. The previous few wounds that she had received had not slowed her down at all.
So now it looked like that Count Falgur was in a disadvantageous position in this battle.
