Regressed With A Copy System: Breaking the Loop

Chapter 35: A Cave

Nolan stood quietly, the cold night breeze brushing his face. He didn't even want to think about anything right now, but the system had other plans.

[³Message!

- QueenAura_32: Did you just glitch out for 30 minutes? Who even gave you this system?

- Yelenãä: If you continue with this, you will face the consequences, Nolan.

- MrAnonymous: Isn't the altered timeline enough to make you stop? Stop trying to end this, Nolan! Stop!]

Nolan saw the messages displayed in front of them, but his eyes remained void of any emotion.

If they were watching him, then The Wisher must have done something to hide their conversation. He could believe that, since she turned out to be an Architect herself.

At first it was just MrAnonymous and QueenAura_32, but now there was The Wisher and this new Yelenãä. Just how many Architects were there?

He dismissed the system screen without another word, he turned and climbed his horse, riding back to Clover City.

On the way he was ambushed by a horde of low-grade demons. More like he stumbled into them on his way, because they were moving somewhere when they spotted him and started approaching him.

Nolan slowly got down from his horse and walked towards the charging horde with half-lided eyes, looking down. "Add all points to agility."

The system screen flashed beside him, displaying the new stat.

[AGI - 19]

Nolan could feel the difference. His legs and body felt lighter than it was a few seconds ago.

Nolan's eyes moved quickly, trying to see just how many they were. They were about thirty of them.

He wasn't worried about the number. He just wanted to know where exactly thirty low-grades will be going to at night, with the attacks happening.

As they closed in, Nolan stood still, waiting for them. His right hand grew pale and the air around it grew colder, snowflakes appearing falling from it as it looked like it was freezing.

The ground where the demons walked started to rumble, subtlety at first, then it increased.

Then, with a simple lift of his hand, spikes of ice erupted from the earth, stabbing a lot of the low-grade demons and killing them.

Nolan decided to check his Mana and it was as he expected.

[Mana: 90/200]

That much use of the power would drain a lot. It was a good thing The Wisher had given him a plus hundred boost.

Five of the demons escaped the attack and charged at him. He made a sword of ice and as the first two approached, he blitzed past them.

X gashes appeared on their chest and they fell to the ground.

His new speed was remarkable.

One went around him and lunged from the back. Nolan didn't turn at first.

[Switched Ability!]

[Ice Affinity > Fire Affinity]

When he finally did, he swiped his ice sword and caught it by the neck. Its hands fell off and Nolan's hand became engulfed in flames.

He put in a lot of mana, increasing the output, and in no time, the demon's head was completely scorched.

He then slowly turned around to face the two hesitating low-grades left, who were now trying surround him.

As one of them got behind him, Nolan heard his horse neigh and when he turned, he spotted it kicking the demon.

The demon flew towards Nolan and he cleaved it in two, then tightened his grip and faced the other one. He threw the sword and it not only stabbed the demon on the chest, but the force lifted it up and embedded it to the ice spike behind it.

[Level Up!]

[Level: 4]

[Exp points: 0/800]

[+2 skill points rewarded!]

[+15 ability upgrade points rewarded!]

Nolan looked at the level up message, but he was mainly focused on the ability upgrade point.

As if knowing he was thinking about it, a new screen appeared beside the level up screen.

[Choose ability to upgrade!

• Fire Affinity (F): 0/25

• Light Embodiment (E): 0/50

• Ice Affinity (S): 0/500

• Divine Control (S): 0/500]

He looked at it for a little while before allocating the points to the one that had a closer update range.

[• Fire Affinity (F): 15/25]

Based on what he understood, if it reaches 25, the Fire Affinity will become an E-tier ability. That wasn't bad at all.

Nolan walked over to the horse and got on it. Initially, his plan was to go back, but curiosity got the best of him and he just had to check out where the low-grades were all heading to.

He rode quickly and soon, he arrived at a cave.

"What's that?" he muttered, quietly coming down. He took the horse to the side, a little far from the cave and quickly returned, sneaking into the cave.

He could feel the oppressive pressure of a ranked demon as he stepped inside. There were a few holes by the cave walls, ones big enough for him to hide in, just incase.

He quickly switched to his ice ability and made a dagger as he continued to walk in.

The deeper he got, he started to hear noises and noticed was a source of light from inside.

He had never been to this part of Cloveland so it was a first. Getting closer, he realized the noise he had been hearing was actually someone speaking.

Nolan stopped in his tracks when he felt something move behind him. Hi eyes narrowed and he turned around, but there was no one there.

"...the plan is going well."

Nolan's eyes widened a fraction as he heard the voice from inside coming closer, accompanied by another, their long shadows starting to appear. And from where he came in, he started to hear the noises of another low-grade bunch.

They were close and needed to find a way to hide, but the holes close by weren't deep enough to keep him hidden.

Then suddenly, something moved and he felt it again behind. This time he spotted it and swiped his dagger but whatever it was had an incredible speed, going past him.

Before he could turned, he felt himself yanked into one of the holes.

A hand pinned him in place, dagger to his throat. "Don't. Move." A female voice said.
