I reacted instantly and turned into lightning, just narrowly avoiding the attack from hitting me.
Clementine immediately reacted as well, summoning several of her Soul Weapons and sending them straight at the Inquisitor.
But to both of our dismay, the Inquisitor just lowered his hand and split her Soul Weapons in two.
She tried again and again, but the same outcome happened.
As for me, I finally managed to take a breather and inspect the battlefield.
The Inquisitor was at least a head taller than the other Reapers.
And the halo too...
But despite that, something seemed off.
Inquisitors were usually aware, loud, and really powerful.
And yet, this one here was only powerful.
Thinking back on it for a brief moment, my eyes widened.
The three Reapers disappeared, and then an Inquisitor appeared in their place...
So could they have somehow merged together?
Maybe the reason why it's not a regular Inquisitor is because it needed all five Reapers, not just three?
With those thoughts in mind, I suddenly felt like the situation wasn't as hopeless anymore.
And in the next instant, I arrived behind Clementine and switched positions with her.
"Your Soul Weapons won't work, back me up instead."
She nodded at me and surrounded my body in her Soul Weapons.
Then, right as I was about to dash toward the Inquisitor, it vanished out of sight.
Yet because of the thick pile of snow beneath our feet, I saw footprints approaching me rapidly.
And the moment they arrived in front of me, I sent out a powerful arc of lightning.
The Inquisitor reappeared.
To my surprise, a completely white bow was in his hands.
He drew it back and quickly shot a white arrow at me.
Knowing that he had a way to bypass my Telekinetic Barrier, I quickly moved aside.
Yet the arrow homed in on me regardless.
Right as it was about to hit me, though, I turned into lightning and reappeared above the Inquisitor.
But as though he was waiting for me, his white halo began to glow.
I tried to turn myself into lightning, but it didn't work.
Almost like the Inquisitor had created an anti-energy barrier.
So as I began to hurtle toward the Inquisitor, I brought my hands together, bracing for impact.
I saw the Inquisitor draw back his bow again.
And as he gazed at me with a blank look, he eventually released the bowstring.
I noticed that Clementine had started to spam all sorts of Soul Weapon attacks to free me.
In the end, she couldn't break through the anti-energy barrier.
But it's fine.
I wasn't that helpless.
I saw the arrow inching ever so closer to me.
And once it was right in front of my arms, I used the Draconic Tongue.
"Freeze."
A small chunk of my energy drained in an instant as the arrow froze in midair.
But I wasn't done.
I focused on the anti-energy barrier surrounding me.
"Shatter."
This time, it took nearly 1/5th of my energy.
But I felt like I could use my Gifts again.
And so, I quickly turned into lightning and reappeared beside Clementine.
"Amon! You—"
"Clementine, I'm going to need you to do something for me."
She halted, her expression turning serious.
I nodded in satisfaction.
"Can you finish the quest?"
"You're telling me to leave you again?"
Yes.
Yes I am.
But it's not like last time.
"Clementine, both of us have matchups that we can't deal with. Your Soul Weapons get canceled out instantly. Charm won't work since that Inquisitor is basically braindead, and if you use your Domain, the Inquisitor will just cancel it."
"On the other hand, I'm durable. So finish the quest and get that artifact since it might just be what we need to kill this thing."
For a moment, she didn't say a word.
Though a moment was already too long as the Inquisitor appeared before us once again.
It swung its hand in an arc, aiming to cut Clementine in two.
She jumped back, whereas I jumped in.
Using Atomic Stabilization, I forcibly increased my body's durability by six times.
I stomped my foot down onto the snow and caught the Inquisitor's attack.
The bones in my arms shattered.
But because of how fast I healed, my bones quickly mended together, and in mere seconds, I was fine.
Seeing that, Clementine finally made a decision.
And in the corner of my eye, I saw her hop onto her Soul Weapon and head toward the final ice tower.
The Inquisitor's gaze landed on her.
He eased up on me and then jumped up, as if trying to spot Clementine.
But why would I let him?
I wrapped the Inquisitor in my Telekinesis, and although he was dissipating my energy, I quickly brought him down.
BOOOOOOOM!
He crashed into the ground.
Then, he swiped his hand, getting rid of the smoke and dust.
His gaze landed on me again.
Just this time, the killing intent that I felt was extreme.
And before I could even react, I felt a fiery sensation in my abdomen as I was suddenly sent hurtling through the air, collapsing several dozen frozen trees and eventually stopping against a boulder.
The air was knocked out of my lungs.
Even so, aside from a great amount of pain, I was still fine.
I soon saw the Inquisitor emerge from the blizzard, holding some of my intestines in his hands.
Just then, he hurtled my own intestines at me.
Noticing something off, I blasted off the ground.
My intestines hit the rock that I crashed into, and despite all odds, pierced straight through like powerful weapons.
A shiver ran down my spine.
As I hovered above the Inquisitor, I was left at a loss.
What can I do?
It was stronger than me.
None of my attacks even worked.
...How do I beat an unbeatable opponent?
The moment I had that thought, I glanced over my status.
And eventually, my gaze landed on The Demon King of Wrath's Blood.
This was the only thing I knew close to nothing about.
But after what happened in the ocean... I had a clue.
A power that stemmed from the emotions of anger and wrath.
Time seemed to slow down as I closed my left eye and recalled the sensation I felt back when I saw the wreckage.
I remembered a dull sensation.
A buried sensation.
...An untapped sensation.
The more I focused on that feeling, the more I felt like my vision was distorting.
But after just a few moments of searching, I found it.
Deep within my heart, in between both of my Gifts, there was a small, pulsating crimson fragment.
I've never noticed it before.
...Maybe because I've never looked this deep.
Seeing that fragment, I couldn't help but reach for it.
And when I did, the vision in my right eye vanished.
For a moment, I only heard loud buzzing.
Suddenly, my left eye forcibly opened.
The moment it did, I felt like my field of view increased significantly.
Everything was so much more vibrant...
It was almost intoxicating.
But as I glanced down slightly, I noticed a red glow reflected in the snow.
I knowingly raised my hands up to my forehead and felt two pairs of small, firm demon horns.
"..."
Although I wasn't sure what was happening, I felt a little stronger.
My mind was much clearer now too.
Taking a deep breath, I vanished into lightning and reappeared behind the Inquisitor.
The lightning had turned into a deep shade of crimson.
And as my lightning-infused fist headed straight for the Inquisitor, all I could feel was overwhelming power.
The Inquisitor frowned and threw a punch at me as well.
The snow melted in an instant, and the blizzard parted slightly as white energy and crimson lightning fiercely collided.
