Chapter 657: Zhao Ming Ye

An elder from the Qing Feng Sect sat on the side of the main hall, quietly waiting for the response from him while enjoying a sip of tea.

Elder Chan put down the teacup he had in his hands slowly before he glanced at Zhao Geng Nian and said, "You should know the answer.

"The sect leader is getting impatient and you had better clear up the mess before he arrives.

"After all, you aren’t the only one waiting in line to become the next sect leader."

Zhao Geng Nian’s eyes narrowed and he lowered his head after he heard what elder Chan had said.

He would have cleared everything up by now if he could.

"Thank you, elder Chan. I shall not disappoint the sect leader when he arrives in Hong Feng City." Zhao Geng Nian cupped his hands at elder Chan and said.

Zhao Geng Nian stood up with him and sent him off with a nod of his head.

When elder Chan went out of sight, he gritted his teeth and cursed at how things were going for him in comparison with the other peak lords.

The other peak lords had completed what they were tasked with and he was the last among them right now.

His original plan of taking down the Sima Family first, before taking control of Hong Feng and subsequently Gui Feng with its precious mines, had failed disastrously at every step of the way.

Whoever it was that was stopping him deserved to be burned with the perpetual Nine Yang Fire that was in the Qing Feng Sect.

In the Governor’s Residence, three familiar figures appeared in the Governor’s room.

"Hehehe, my Dark Lord, you should have let me get rid of that Lin Xuan Qi a long time ago." Eunuch Xin, in his dirtied and tattered red robe of a eunuch, bowed at the Dark Lord that was seated in front of him and said.

"It was worth the wait.

"He has taught me many things and now, he had indirectly made the sect leader of the Qing Feng Sect come over here to Hong Feng City." The Dark Lord brushed his long black hair to the back and said.

Lee Yi Hong bowed at the Dark Lord and added, "I’m glad that you’ve listened to me instead of him."

He glanced over at Eunuch Xin and shook his head at Eunuch Xin.

Eunuch Xin stared back at him with a look of disdain.

The three of them had remained under cover ever since the attack on the Sima Family.

And after Eunuch Xin disclosed that there was something strange with Lin Xuan Qi, the Dark Lord decided to see what Lin Xuan Qi was up to.

The results were not what the Dark Lord had expected.

Lin Xuan Qi, with his strange abilities, could have done more with them, but he had stuck to being a businessman, preferring to make more money instead.

That was something puzzling for the Dark Lord and it felt like Lin Xuan Qi’s behavior was the key to everything he had sought throughout the ages.

If all of the cultivators could be restrained like he was, then there would be hope for everyone in the Da Qian Dynasty.

The sects or clans might start out with a righteous leader and ways of doing things, but as time went by, all of them would fall into this trap without fail.

Surprisingly, the changes made things better for those who had worked with him.

The Dark Lord shook his head at Lee Yi Hong and Eunuch Xin, "There’s no time to be arguing.

"We need to get ready for the arrival of the Qing Feng Sect’s sect leader, Zhao Ming Ye."

"Yes, my lord." Lee Yi Hong and Eunuch Xin stopped their bickering and bowed at the Dark Lord.

They knew how much it meant to him to be able to get rid of the Qing Feng Sect’s sect leader.

The Dark Lord had been trying to do it after all these ages, and finally here was the chance for him to do so.

With the sect leader coming out from the protection of the Formation Array of the Qing Feng Sect, the Dark Lord had a better chance to succeed.

Otherwise, it was near impossible for the Dark Lord to do so.

Right now, the advantage was on the Dark Lord’s side since they were in the dark, unnoticed by the Qing Feng Sect.

All they had to do was to wait for the right moment to strike.

Meanwhile, inside his lab, Lin Xuan Qi felt his dantian fill with the Five-Element Qi, and his senses, strength and Spirit Sea increased in an instant.
