Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 4744 Suffering From Vitality

Chapter 4744  Suffering From Vitality

Davis unceremoniously walked back to a room he had chosen that was to the opposite side of the hall, where Fairy Thunderblaze's room was. Looking at the bed, he directly planted his face on the pillow, relaxing all his muscles.

"Ugh.."

He groaned in pain and pleasure as he turned around and looked at the ceiling.

He could no longer endure, quickly drifting off to sleep.

Sometime later, he tried to open his eyes as he felt heavy and hot. He checked his body instantly and saw that his blood energy levels were high, which made his body unusually hot, like he was having a fever.

Waking up, he circulated his energy and calmed the blood energy flow for a while before drifting off to sleep while still seated in a lotus position. He didn't even know how much time had passed before a hand shook his shoulder.

"Wake up."

Davis's eyelids fluttered open quickly. He raised his head and gazed at Fairy Thunderblaze, who was beside him, before wiping off the drool over his chin. Looking at his purple sleeve, he saw it was bloody.

"You're ill." Fairy Thunderblaze softly said.

Davis straightened his back and breathed in and out a few times before he nodded.

"Seems like it. Using life energy to heal seems useless since my body is unable to contain all the blood energy, which is agitated by the powerful remnant injury remaining in my body. But no matter, let me sleep first and recover my psyche. My body is too powerful to fail me, so I will deal with it later."

"It's already been seven days." Fairy Thunderblaze said, "If you continue to take more rest, you might descend into a coma and wake up months later. At that time, it will all be over."

"…" Davis's expression churned.

He contemplated for a few moments before he sighed, "I wish Dalila were here. She could throw up a pill recipe on the spot to cure me of my high blood energy levels."

"Just use your death energy to hurt yourself; extinguish your blood essence."

"It doesn't work like that, unfortunately. It would harm my foundation instead if I am not careful." Davis raised his hand and clenched his fist, "Besides, I don't want to lose this prowess that I got through a stroke of daringness and luck."

Fairy Thunderblaze's heart sank as she sensed the mountainous pressure from his fist. It was as though he could destroy this abode just from the tremor unleashed by the power gathering in his fist. He quickly released his fist and turned to look at her.

"What about you? Can you make a medicine for me?"

Fairy Thunderblaze stared at him with a strange look before she nodded, "I might have a way to calm your blood essence."

"What is it? Don't tell me you're an alchemist at the Exalt Grade?" He chuckled.

Fairy Thunderblaze almost smiled in humor but shook her head. She turned to look outside the window over the vines.

"That plant lifeform is a Realm Calamity known as the Lifeblood Devouring Cicada Calamity, which absorbs blood essence to nurture its fruits and sends out crimson cicada-shaped energy lifeforms to attract more prey and rise in cultivation endlessly until it clears out the lifeforms in the realms."

"Its fruit's effects are something you should be naturally aware of, but I have read before that its leaf sap is also quite useful to calm blood flow and cure many illnesses. But since it's above Exalt Grade, I'm not sure of its true effects. You could have a try if you want." She suggested.

"…" Davis watched her closely before he inwardly grumbled, since he had had enough of that plant lifeform.

Having fed it so much and being charmed by it, he almost fell under a spell that said he was the gardener and had to take care of it. It was really not easy trying to break the charmed mentality. Still, having no choice, he sighed.

"Might as well try it if I have no other choice."

Walking out, he used a similar procedure to gather. Using this chance, Fairy Thunderblaze also gathered some for her own purposes. He couldn't be bothered. However, this made him happy. He felt glad since his aggression toward her action would mean he was still charmed by the plant lifeform, since Fairy Thunderblaze was technically harming it.

It seems resting for seven days really had a great effect on his soul already. His mind was already significantly clear, and his thoughts flowed smoothly. There was still some exhaustion, but it wasn't unbearable like before.

After returning to his room, Davis tasted the sap of the Lifeblood Devouring Cicada Calamity, letting it flow through his stomach and his body. It was so bitter he nearly threw out his tongue in disgust.

But instantly, he felt better, causing him to take more sips in small amounts as though he was relishing the most disgusting tea he had ever tasted.

"Hmm. Great! Your idea works. I can feel my burgeoning blood energy be soothed and calmed, no longer tumbling and causing chaos within my blood vessels."

Davis complimented Fairy Thunderblaze, causing her to nod absentmindedly as though she didn't care.

"What are you thinking now?"

"What can I be thinking?" Fairy Thunderblaze shook her head, "The past few days, many Calamities have ventured into this region. The ghost spirit clans in the surrounding regions have scattered, no longer daring to herd the ghosts. Lady Thunderwraith hunted a few of them and managed to strengthen herself, but I have nothing to do. I am literally stuck in this place with nothing to do other than wait for you to succeed in your endeavor."

Her brows narrowed, "You mentioned usurping the runic marks on my soul. Do you really mean it?"

"I did." Davis nodded, "Such matters cannot be explained or spoken about lightly. You keep waiting for me to succeed. If we manage to get out, then you can think about killing me. May fortune be with you."

"…" Fairy Thunderblaze wanted to roll her eyes. His teasing wasn't humorous this time around for her.

"Then I'll prepare you some refreshments. At the very least, I can't be indebted to you."

Davis raised his brows, looking surprised, "You really want to strut around that huge favor that is left, huh? I'll consider it settled when I steal those marks from you."

"Then you have my thanks in advance." Fairy Thunderblaze stood up, cupped her hands for a few seconds as though she was respectful, and left.

"…" Davis was momentarily stunned.

She was letting go of her hold over him? He leaned back and rubbed his chin, thinking it was different than what he expected.
