Chapter 3746: See You Again
"I’m still curious about one thing," Kentucky kept at it. "Just where did Havira find this vial of God Blood?"
"That we don’t know," Ploto shook his head. "For a time, we conducted a search all over our Divine Realm and Universe, especially in the Spirit Races’ Territory. Yet, we didn’t find anything related to that vial."
"Anyway," Ploto ended that conversation there. "Havira is gone, and we can only hope she managed to hide. Perhaps we will meet her again someday."
Kentucky nodded, and they continued to spend their time talking about other things.
---
Days went by, and Rean’s group worked on the Great Void Shifter. In fact, they didn’t stay in that same shifter all this time. After they got the things they wanted, Rean asked to be brought to the third Shifter. That third one wasn’t as overall intact as the previous Shifter Formation, but it had places where the runes were in better conditions, which contributed greatly.
Surprisingly, their group returned to the formation under the ocean later on, and with their work, they were able to extract a little bit more information. The main point was the cores of the formations, no doubt. Putting the information extracted from all three cores together made it a lot easier to virtually reconstruct their functions.
A week later, Rean was brought back to the floating land, which ultimately reconnected him to Kentucky and the system, allowing Roan and the others to enter and exit freely.
"Oh! You are back!" Kentucky smiled. Well, he knew Rean returned due to their connection anyway.
"How was your research?" Ploto asked, curious.
Rean felt great as he answered the question. "Couldn’t have gone better! It was just like I thought. By analyzing the cores and runes of the three Shifters, I could retrace their coordinate functionalities. Well, not all of them, but enough for our use. To be honest, although I wouldn’t be able to make a Great Void Shifter Formation, I should be able to fix one if I put the runes of all three together."
Ratria didn’t see much use in it. "We don’t intend to leave, so having one of them working again is just a waste of time and resources. No one will stay there to watch over it either."
She was right. After all, one could be found in the Ermmel Clan anyway, and if the Demon Beasts get the next Universe Owner, they will have it for themselves. The Werdlem Empire requires at least one of those in perfect working conditions, regardless of who controlled that Universe.
"I thought you would say so," Rean nodded. "That’s why I didn’t leave them there. I took all the usable runes with me. Perhaps I will have some use for a Shifter Formation in the future. You won’t mind it, right?"
Ratria narrowed her eyes, but looking at Kentucky’s doubtful expression, she could only bitterly smile. "We... won’t." They didn’t have a use for them... right now. Who knows in the future, right? She didn’t insist on that, though, allowing Rean to keep them all.
Frife-Ni didn’t pay much attention to it. "Alright, what matters is whether you can use it to find your way into other Universes or not."
"We can," Rean didn’t hide it since they would be using the location where the shifters existed to leave this Universe. "However, what I managed to extract from the cores and the analyses of the runes were only paths to Rank F, E, and D Universes at most."
"Isn’t that good enough?" Frife asked back. "Even our Universe Owner likely doesn’t have information about Rank E and D Universes. If you got it from the formations, that is a great outcome."
Rean then threw three Jade Slips forward, one to Ploto, one to Frife, and the last one to Ratria. "It is indeed a great piece of information. In these jade slips, you will find the locations of other Universes through the use of Great Void Shifters. If you manage to take control of the Ermmel Clan’s Formation in the future, this should help you contact those Universes."
He continued. "Of course, it won’t be enough for you to use the Shifter to go to those higher-ranked universes. Don’t forget that the Werdlem Empire still needs to contact those Universes in advance and tell them to activate their formations at the same time you do yours."
Ploto understood Rean’s meaning. "But, if we manage to contact the Universe Owners of those Universes and work together, we won’t need the Werdlem Empire as a middleman."
"Exactly," Rean confirmed. "Well, there are a lot more at play here. The Werdlem Empire likely has ways of detecting if their Great Void Shifters are activated without their permission. I definitely found some runes that seem related to this kind of function, and it was also present in the coding of the cores. If you do try something like this in the future, you will have to find a way to avoid this problem so the Empire doesn’t bother you."
"Just to have the right coordinates without the Empire’s intervention is already a big deal," Ploto put the Jade Slip away. It was a good thing to not use the Werdlem Network to share that information. "Thank you. Perhaps we can go after you in the future if the need arises."
Ratria couldn’t help but look at Kentucky. "So you are truly leaving?"
"Yes," Kentucky nodded. "There is no need for you to worry, Ratria. You now know our strength, and our real identities can’t be found thanks to Victor. We will be fine. Only Semi-Celestial and Celestial Realm experts pose a real threat to us at the moment, and we have plenty of ways to keep ourselves safe."
*Zush!*
Roan immediately appeared outside. "Alright, we are done here. Let’s go already."
"Where do you intend to go?" Frife-Ni asked.
"Where else? The higher the rank of a Universe, the higher the chance of finding Starlight Energy sources. We are going straight to a Rank D Universe," Roan explained.
Ratria knew that Kentucky wouldn’t stay, so she tried her request one last time. "Won’t you call me mom even once?"
Kentucky narrowed his eyes, and just as he was about to refuse again, Ploto sent him a Divine Sense Message. ’Do it for me, will you? Just consider it the payment for the gift I left you back in the Lisan Universe.’
"Sigh..." Kentucky scratched the back of his head with his wing. "I will see you again, Dad... and Mom."
He didn’t even look at her, quickly turning around and flying away. "Let’s go."
Rean shrugged with a smile, and Roan just gave a slight nod. They, too, left, leaving behind a tearful female Minokawa.
