Death… And Me

Chapter 3748: Or Not

Chapter 3748: Or Not

"Blood Claws Valley," Kentucky commented. "I mean, it does sound like the territory of Demon Beasts, doesn’t it? If there is one place you would expect a formation to not be taken care of, that is a Demon Beasts’ Territory."

"This Soul Path doesn’t feel like a bad choice either," Roan had his own thoughts. "It is the kind of place you expect to be in the Underworld. The Underworld, due to the huge concentration of Dark Element, makes it a lot harder to keep anything intact. I believe the same goes for a Formation’s Runes, right?"

Rean agreed. "Yes, and the Shifters, at least all we have seen so far, are Legendary Level Formations, with Legendary Level Runes. Quite a good amount of them are very fragile, so the underworld would indeed get them broken more easily."

"If we follow that thought, does that mean the Eternal Well is in the Heavens?" Celis wondered. "It feels like a name you would put up there. Well, you would likely find thousands of places with this name even in a normal Divine Realm."

"We have the Essence Race back in Lisan. Could the Blue Essence Rift be a place with Essence Race experts?" Rean also wondered. "No, forget it. We need to focus on the name that most likely would have a broken and unguarded Great Void Shifter Formation. Eternal Well, Blue Essence Rift, they kind of feel like places where you would expect a higher chance of experts taking care of the Shifter Formations."

Everyone agreed with Rean.

"With that logic, we can also ignore the Coromandel State, which seems to be a location for humanoid races," Celis focused on the possible options. "That leaves us with the Groman Abyss, Blood Claws Valley, and the Soul Path. The Groman Abyss and Soul Path are the kind of names you would expect to find in the Underworld."

For the twins’ group, it didn’t really matter much where they would appear. Rean and Kentucky would excel in the Heavens, Roan and Kentucky would excel in the Underworld. The Divine Realm would be okay for them all. And Celis could make it work in any of those realms.

In the end, they couldn’t really come up with a decision, so...

"Hey, you there!" Rean turned to the side. Not far from where they were talking, a Demon Beast that was tasked to stay with them was waiting, not knowing what they intended to do. "I believe your name was Rolanto, right?"

Rolanto is a Divinity Realm Peak Stage from the Grand Hokel Race, a type of Underground Demon Beast. "That’s correct. Do you need anything? I was told to supply you with all the resources necessary for this research of yours in the Shifters."

"No, we are fine with resources," Rean shook his head. "Say, there are three places we need to go, but we only know the names. They are Blood Claws Valley, Soul Path, and Groman Abyss. Which one of those would you select?"

Rolanto obviously got confused. "That’s a weird question. Hum... I heard about a valley with that name before, but it is a rather low-level place with a small concentration of Divine Energy. As for the other two, I don’t know them."

"Oh, don’t worry," Rean intervened. "The Blood Claws Valley we are talking about is definitely not the same one you mentioned."

"Not the same?" Rolanto nodded. "Well, then I could only decide based on names indeed. Could you at least tell me what you expect to find, what you expect to experience?"

"Basically, the best place for a formation to be abandoned and be unguarded," Kentucky added.

Finally, Rolanto gave his opinion. "I see. In that case, I would definitely go to the Groman Abyss. I mean, how many abysses do you know to have formations inside? The other two give me the sensation that you could more or less build a formation there since it could serve as a hub, especially for Teleport Formations. But an abyss... if you make a formation in an abyss, it is likely temporary, something you wanted to hide or had no other choice, and something you would abandon easily."

Rean and the others looked at each other. "Seems like we have a winner."

"Thanks, Rolanto," Rean said and bowed to the Demon Beast. "Now, get a little further away while we work, will you?"

Rolanto, still confused, just walked away from there.

Back in the Shifter, the twins connected to the Celestial Soul System.

*Pin!*

[Abyssal Path ready to be used.]

The system answered their call.

[Open the passage?]

"Yes!" Rean and Roan ordered.

*Crack, crack, crack... zulll...*

The same multicolored portal and a deep black center was opened once again right in the middle of the Shifter, much to Rolanto’s surprise. That Shifter was completely broken, and Rean had taken away all the usable runes, so how could it activate? But then again, Rolanto noticed how the broken formation was completely unresponsive. Not a single iota of Divine Energy was running through it.

The twins’ group didn’t wait for Rolanto to ask any questions, though. The four of them jumped inside, and before Rolanto could rush over, the Abyssal Path entrance closed in front of him. "This..."

Rolanto spread his Divine Sense, but couldn’t detect the twins’ group anywhere. His expression turned bitter, looking in the direction of the floating land. "Just what am I going to tell the others..."

---

The twins’ group didn’t mind any of that. They were already crossing the Great Void at an unbelievable speed. Abyssal Paths still required the crossing, and although they were faster than Spatial Gates, we were talking about the distance between a Rank D Universe and a Rank F one.

[Please select the path to follow.]

Soon, the first division of Abyssal Paths appeared, and Rean quickly passed the others.

One after another, after another, after another. Shifters get abandoned, broken, and destroyed, but the Abyssal Paths remained. Thus, there were a lot of Abyssal Paths entangled in the Werdlem Empire’s Great Void. Fortunately, Rean now knew exactly which routes to take.

It took them over two hundred hours, but the system finally got them to their destination. The only question was whether it was a safe place or not.
