Chapter 3749: The Differences
*Zush, zush, zush, zush...*
The multicolored portal appeared again, and from the darkness at the center, four experts shot out like bullets.
*Bang!*
They landed on the ground, causing the surroundings to shake with intense force due to the impact. Two Humans, a Black and White Bird, and a huge Tree stood there, spreading their Divine Senses all around. Naturally, they were Rean, Roan, Celis, and Kentucky.
The area was pitch black, and the only light they could see came from far about, almost nonexistent. Below them, the remains of a long-gone formation could be seen, and this one was in a much worse shape than those Rean analyzed back in F974. There probably wasn’t a single rune that could be used anymore.
"Anything?" Roan asked the others.
"Nothing here at least," Kentucky commented, relaxing a bit.
Rean also sighed in relief, looking at the formation under their feet. "Seems like Rolanto was a lucky demon beast. He selected the right Shifter for us to use." Following that, Rean proceeded to the core of the Great Void Shifter Formation. Even if it was broken, he should be able to get some information for when they decide to go to a higher-ranked Universe.
Too bad, though. "Shit, the core is gone. Meh, seems like the core has been removed a long time ago too." There wasn’t a single thing that could be used in those remains of the formation.
"You should be thankful," Roan commented, walking around a little. "The fact that the Demon Beasts’ Shifters back in F974 still had their cores, even if broken, was already quite a lot of luck."
"That’s true," Rean nodded, his mood improving a bit. Then, he did the same as the others, checking the environment, noticing the most obvious thing. "Underworld, right?"
Roan confirmed. "Must be. The concentration of Dark Element in this place is extremely high. It is occupying more than 90% of the elemental variety. And light, obviously, has the lowest amount between the elements here."
Rean didn’t mind, simply shifting his focus to the Dark Element instead. He wasn’t as good as Roan, but definitely better than most beings, including Devils.
Roan accumulated Divine Energy on his hand and noticed something even better. "Divine Origin Energy?"
Celis smiled in response. "Exactly! Well, since this is the Underworld, the Devils probably call it Devilish Origin Energy. Forget it. It is all the same shit. Anyway, around 30% of the environment Divine Energy is actually Divine Origin Energy. What a treat! It is like we are using Rank Seven Divine Stones, but no stones."
"This is the first Universe we found where Divine Origin Energy could be found normally in the environment. Could it be that the entire Universe is like this? That makes me wonder just how good Universes of Rank C, B, A, and S are." Celis commented in excitement.
Rean shrugged. "It won’t be of much use if we can’t find a source of Starlight Energy."
"Tch..." Celis’s excitement died straight away. "Couldn’t you let me feel happy for a little longer?" Yes, without Starlight Energy to make Sky Energy, it wouldn’t matter how much Divine Origin Energy they had.
Well, it might be the case for them... But for Tanxan, Foliana, and Zangeshu inside the Dimensional Realm, this place was definitely a paradise.
*Rumble...*
Suddenly, the entire area began to tremble as if an Earthquake was taking place.
However, it wasn’t an enemy. Instead, the walls of that abyss began to crumble, and huge boulders quickly fell from above. The twins’ group was to blame for that occurrence. They landed on the ground with such force that they destabilized the structure of the terrain.
Roan’s Intent Scythe appeared, and he made a simply slashing motion upwards. Instantly, hundreds of boulders, stones, rocks, etc, were sliced to shreds, preventing them from causing any damage below. "This place is coming down. If you have anything to get from this formation, do it now. Otherwise, let’s not waste time here."
Rean shook his head in response, already taking flight with Celis and Kentucky. "This formation is beyond any salvation. The Dark Element of the environment completely ruined all the runes. Let’s just leave."
Roan nodded, and their group shot upwards. On the way up, Celis decided to go back to the Dimensional Realm since there didn’t seem to be any danger that required his assistance. As for Rean, Roan, and Kentucky, they quickly changed.
Rean’s Body Transformation Technique activated, and the aura of the trio now shifted to that of two Devils and a Devil Beast. Rean could even use Dark Element to change his hair and eyes to black with his proficiency. Two pairs of horns appeared on both Rean and Roan’s heads, making them look like perfect Devils as well.
*Zu, zu, zu!*
The trio left the collapsing abyss, but it didn’t cause any commotion. That was nothing but a tiny piece of an abyss that extended for tens of thousands of kilometers. Such collapses happened from time to time there anyway.
"Should we check the Werdlem Network?" Kentucky asked.
However, Rean shook his head. "No. Same rules as the previous Universes. We will find some city, settlement, or whatever. Then we will buy the local Communication Devices to prevent the Werdlem System from noticing our CDs from other universes."
"Well, seems like we won’t need to look for information for much longer," Roan commented, his eyes turning in a certain direction.
Rean and Kentucky followed his lead, and they saw a group flying in their direction, just entering the range of their Divine Senses.
Rean couldn’t help but narrow his eyes. "Are they Devils?"
Roan nodded. "Their aura is unmistakable."
Still, the Devils that appeared didn’t have the appearance of normal Devils that the twins found in other Universes. There were no red-shot eyes, black skin, scales, and such. Even their horns weren’t creepy like Devils, but polished, shining ones. If anything, their horns looked more like fashion articles. They were an absolute stark contrast to the ’terrifying’ Devil forms Rean, Roan, and Kentucky took just now.
"What are they, bambi devils?" Kentucky found their appearances quite funny.
"Whatever," Roan didn’t care. "They are coming for us, and I didn’t feel any Divine Sense when we appeared. Let them come, and we can ask how they found out we appeared here."
