Chapter 4094: Where To?
Rean checked the chart Fila gave them, and it had no information regarding what direction they should go once outside, let alone the time required to reach the nearest Universe. "Wait! Hick, you must know how to travel from one universe to another once outside, no?"
"Me?" Hick understood. "Oh! You think I know a lot because it was I who brought you here to the Werdlem Empire, right? Sorry, that’s not the case at all. I just had a few contacts who helped me move around, some people who owed me favors. I’ve been here and there by using the Great Void Shifters instead."
Roan didn’t feel like Hick was telling them everything. However, he knew Hick wouldn’t speak anyway. Besides, there was something else he wanted to do. "I seem to remember you refused to enter our Celestial Soul Dimensional Realm before because you would be falling into our hands, right? Well, lo and behold, here you are! Who wants to take their time to give this guy a beating?"
Hick was taken aback. "Haha-Hahaha... You wouldn’t truly attack a friend, right? I mean, I did what I did, but that also saved your life, didn’t it?"
"Of course!" Rean joined, only now remembering that very entertaining fact. "That’s why we won’t beat you too much, just a few days will be enough to release our pent-up anger. We are friends, after all."
"Wait! I need to do something outside! How about we continue this discussion out there?" Hick tried to escape. Too bad his body suddenly froze in place.
[I’ve got him pinned down. You won’t mind if I strike him a few times, too, right?] Sister Orb also wanted to take part in the fun.
"But of course!" Kentucky was already stretching. "Who here doesn’t know what a beating from Sister Orb feels like? As friends, we obviously have to share the experience with Hick. Any objections?"
"No objections!" Everyone answered at the same time, including Roan!
"No, wait! You can’t do that! I’m the Terminarch! The Pillar of Boundaries! Well, not anymore, but I was! You can’t do that! It is not right! No! Wait! Nooooooo!"
Only Havira didn’t take part, but she didn’t intervene either. She absolutely didn’t want to be taken as a target for obstructing their payback moment. ’Let’s hope he can survive this... Hum? Oh, right! Primordial Beasts can’t die. He’ll be fine.’
Then, she walked somewhere else.
---
They said a few days, but they were pretty much done after a few hours. There was only so much you could do when the target simply didn’t die. The good thing was that you didn’t need to hold back either. So, Hick was now in a very deplorable state, and even tears were coming out. "That was so mean..."
Rean touched the guy, starting to heal him. "Mean? Are you the one to say it? What about abandoning us?"
"I told you that was for your own good!" The all hurt Hick complained.
Roan ignored that, deciding to return to the main topics. "Leaving your beating aside, how do we find a chart that shows the positions of the Universe in the Werdlem Empire?"
"That is likely only in the hands of the Werdlem Empire’s higher-ups," Hick answered, still hurt. "Once again, we would need to go to the Werdlem Empire’s Starway or maybe even the Imperial Dimensional Realm."
Havira returned, seeing that they had finished their work with Hick. "Guys, even if we can’t find where the other Universes are located, I still think we should go out of the Universe to attempt our breakthroughs. It might take a few years, considering the size of the Werldlem Universe, but we should get to the border if we keep travelling by Spatial Gates nonstop."
Roan thought about the idea. The worst thing would be if their breakthroughs were interrupted by the Werdlem Empire’s Experts. They have plenty of Celestials, so they should get to their location pretty fast once they nail where the twins’ group is.
"Can’t we simply have our breakthroughs inside the Celestial Soul Dimensional Realm?" Kentucky asked. "We had most of our breakthroughs here, so it shouldn’t be an issue, no? It would prevent anyone from noticing anything."
"Not gonna work," Hick answered straight away. "You need unobstructed access to the outside world. I can’t open a Breach to the Celestial Plane in here. Also, going out of the Universe sounds good, but it is actually worse in my opinion."
"Why?"
"This is the Werdlem Universe, remember?" Hick spoke the obvious. "Literally everyone in the Werdlem Empire wishes to live here. That said, the Werdlem Universe must have many measures in place to prevent experts from entering. Chances are, even if we manage to go out, we might not be able to come back in. We would be left adrift in the Great Void. And that’s not considering we might be found for the same reason."
Roan could see some merit in Hick’s words. "That said, we would need a safe place in the Werdlem Universe instead. Hick, any ideas?"
"I thought you would never ask." Hick smiled. "I asked Rean to find the Congral Region Great Shifter for a reason. Remember when I said I had a way to mislead our pursuers here? The reason is that I have a friend here who can cover for us. He owns a big territory in this region, which he could seal up so no one could come inside while you try your breakthroughs."
"Was this friend the one who helped you come here before?" Rean asked.
"Exactly!" Hick confirmed. "He also has his own Great Void Shifter, which we could use to go somewhere else in the Werdlem Universe later. No one will come to investigate his land, that I can guarantee."
"But won’t the commotion of a Celestial Realm Breakthrough attract the Werdlem Forces? Can he keep those guys out?" Roan was skeptical of it.
"Not in his land," Hick said. "It’s not that the Werdlem Forces couldn’t come, but that they wouldn’t know what was happening in there to start with. You will see when you get there."
"Fine." Roan accepted the idea in the end. It wasn’t like they had a better one anyway. "But before that..."
Roan looked seriously at Hick. "Just what the hell is Fila doing there?"
