Chapter 4123: Cute or Frightening?

Hick explained what they had to do before Rean and Kentucky travelled through the Glacial Corridor, leaving several Divine Sense Runes behind that Rean could use to connect. Still, they didn't seem very convinced. Hick's orders were quite unusual.

Still, they didn't have a much better idea, so they positioned all the Divine Sense Runes. Over two hundred continents, but no more than a few tens of those Divine Sense Runes were left in each one along the corridor. It wasn't that Rean didn't want to put more of them, but because he had no need to do so.

Those Divine Sense Runes were exactly that, runes made to work with the Werdlem Network so they could receive a message and spread it through Divine Sense. With Rean's proficiency in formations, a few tens of runes per continent were more than enough for the Divine Sense Messages to reach every corner of the corridor.

Rean nodded, turning on all the runes at once. It wouldn't be only Nyxara who would receive the message, but every single creature that could understand Divine Sense Messages. Well, that didn't matter at the moment since pretty much everyone in this place didn't even know the Werdlem Empire existed.

With the runes on, Hick and Rean started to have a... conversation...

"What do you mean? My cat is obviously the cutest animal in the world!" Rean spoke, his expression weird, having a hard time doing as Hick said.

"Hmph!" Hick countered. "That's because you have never seen Nyxara before. Nothing is cuter than her."

"Hahaha!" Rean laughed in response. "Nyxara? Cute? That's ridiculous. That beast is the most terrifying thing I've ever seen. Why do you think she is hiding her ass? She doesn't want to show her ugly face to the world. How dare you compare her to my cat?"

"Well, you obviously don't know what you are talking about," Hick didn't stop. "Of course, she is hiding! If she showed herself everywhere, no one would be able to work anymore. Everyone would keep looking at her nonstop."

The other members of the twins' group thought it was one of the most ridiculous conversations they had ever heard. Why are they trying to compare a Primordial Demon Beast with a cat? First of all, Rean doesn't have a cat! He never had!"

*Bzt!*

Suddenly, Rean noticed that one of his set of Divine Sense Runes stopped working. 'Could it be some other expert was nearby and took it down?' Rean wondered. Anyone would be able to tell from where the Divine Sense Messages were coming from, as everyone in range was hearing them.

*Bzt, bzt, bzt...*

But then, he noticed that one set of runes after another stopped working. Each one of them was located at a huge distance from the others, and the experts available around the Glacial Corridor couldn't possibly be all close to the Divine Sense Runes at the same time.

[Rean, the runes are going down, and the direction is toward us,] Sister Orb warned.

Rean nodded as he and Hick continued their strange conversation. In a matter of seconds, the sky changed color.

*wom!*

Out of nowhere, the spatial tunnel connecting to the Celestial Soul Dimensional Realm closed. Not only that, but the seal that looked like a seal appeared once again, blocking both Rean and Kentucky's paths to get inside.

The sky darkened, and in an instant, the gigantic Seal that Rean had seen back then appeared right in front of him. "Errr... Long time no see? I doubt you even remember us, though..."

Hick's voice echoed in Rean's mind with Sister Orb's help. 'Alright, it is up to you two now. Good luck!' and he cut the connection straight away.

"What?!" Rean and Kentucky felt like crying.

The enormous seal looked straight at them, the spatial power locking Rean and Kentucky in place. "So you are the fuckers who said I'm hiding because I'm terrifying, uh?"

Rean and Kentucky cursed Hick in their minds nonstop. "Ahem... nice to meet you, senior Nyxara. We weren't doing that on purpose. Hick just told us that if we wanted to force you out, we would have to say those things. You are not terrifying. You are not terrifying at all. In fact, you are one of the cutest Demon Beasts we have ever seen!"

Truth be told, if you ignored the gigantic size of Nyxara, she was indeed cute. She truly looked just like a seal, but a white silver one. There wasn't a single spot on her body out of place, other than the color, of course. You simply couldn't say she wasn't a cute seal.

Suddenly, Rean and Kentucky were struck by something they couldn't even see, and they blasted against the ground, creating two craters. Looking at Nyxara, it was obvious she was fuming in rage. "Who the hell is cute? You're asking to die!"

Fortunately, Rean and Kentucky were strong, and they quickly healed themselves before shooting out of the ground. "Did we say cute? Oh! It was our mistake, senior! There is no way such an imposing creature like you could be cute! You are terrifying! Yes! You make every being who looks at you wish they were dead. Our fear can't be described in words!"

*Bang, Bang!*

*Crash!*

Once again, they were struck by the same invisible force, crashing against the ground and creating two new craters, these ones bigger than before. "Terrifying your ass! Who are you calling terrifying?! I've decided. I'm going to beat you down until you call Hick out, and then I'm going to beat him down as I beat you down at the same time!"

Rean and Kentucky were helpless. So you couldn't say she looked good, and you couldn't say she looked bad. Just what is wrong with that Primordial Demon Beast? But then, Rean had an idea.

"S-Senior, Hick is indeed with us, but he won't come out," Rean said.

Nyxara narrowed her eyes. "If you die, your pocket-dimensional realm will be destroyed, and he will be forced to come out."

"That's not it," Rean explained. "Hick's power is at the Celestial Realm at the moment. If he comes out to see you, the Universe will expel him. However, he just told me he very much wishes to talk to you."

'What?!' Hick immediately complained. 'I don't want to talk with her at all! I got her out, it's all on you now!'

Rean completely ignored those words, though. "How about it, senior? Would you mind coming out of this Universe with us? We can bring Hick out, or even better, we can send you inside our Pocket Dimensional Realm, and you can have your sweet time with him."

Nyxara's expression seemed to improve a little bit. "It was Hick who put you up to this, wasn't it?"

Rean and Kentucky nodded vigorously! "Yes! We don't even have a cat!"

Finally, Nyxara nodded. "Very well. But first, let me ask. In the end, do you find me cute or terrifying?"

Rean and Kentucky could see the color of killing intent surrounding them. It all depended on what they would reply.

Rean already had tears coming out. Which one was the right response? She got mad with both of them. In his desperate attempt to come up with an answer, he finally thought of something. "I find you... very respectable."
