Chapter 2810: Firework’s Plan
“What nonsense are you spouting?” Zu An was dumbfounded.
Firework tilted her head in confusion. “Why else did you bring her here? She’s completely useless except for her beauty... though I have to say, even though she’s no longer a young lady, she is still ravishing. She fully inherited her mother’s beauty. Is that why you saved her?”
Zu An huffed. “She’s our big sister in this world. Am I to turn a blind eye to her plight?”
“But rescuing her complicates things. What do you intend to do with her? And how are you going to explain your identity to her?” Firework frowned. It would be inconvenient for them to discuss matters if they had to constantly bring an outsider with them.
“I’ll bring her around for now, lest she suddenly decides to end her life. You don’t have to worry about my identity. I used the Soul Transference Method to implant a belief that we're Yang Guo and Xiaolongnu in her,” Zu An explained.
Firework looked at him with a crooked smile. “You aren’t planning to take responsibility for her?”
Zu An was speechless.
Firework eventually said, “Fine. You can keep her for the time being.”
“How are preparations going on your side?” Zu An asked.
“I’m almost done. I’m ready to establish the E’mei Sect whenever required. I've also created the E’mei Sect’s martial arts.” Firework remarked with a sigh, “Guo Xiang is such a sentimental woman. It feels like every bit of the E’mei Sect has Yang Guo’s shadow in it.”
Be it the Spirit Fox of the Black Marsh or Guo Xiang’s future disciple, Abbess Fengling, they were all named after Guo Xiang’s experiences with Yang Guo back then.
With this thought in mind, she glared at Zu An and snorted, “That Yang fellow is too much. He wouldn’t have let down so many women if he was a philanderer like you!”
Zu An was speechless. Actually, I respect Yang Guo’s devotion to Xiaolongnu, although it is also true that he held up the lives of many women. But then again, it is this feeling of regret that makes the characters memorable to the readers.
“What’s the situation with Zhu Ziliu, Dawu, and Xiaowu?”
“Zhu Ziliu and Xiaowu traveled to the Western Regions and established the Red Plum Blossom Mansion there,” Firework replied. “But Dawu’s wife is Yelu Yan, and the Yelu Clan refuses to leave the Central Plains. It’s for the same reason I couldn’t send Guo Fu off ahead of time, either.”
Zu An nodded in agreement. Everything was going according to plan. They weren’t worried about Dawu and the Yelu Clan’s fate, since this was only a trial world.
Firework suddenly nudged Zu An and asked, “How are things on your side?”
“I've settled Wudang and Huashan. As for the Nine Swords of Dugu and Sunflower Manual, I might have to wait a few more decades before passing them down...”
“That’s not what I’m asking. How are things between you and Tingxue? Is she pregnant yet?”
Zu An’s face reddened. “You’re thinking too much.”
Firework’s face grew stern. “Stop being so wishy-washy. This concerns whether we clear the trial or not. Settle it as soon as possible.”
Zu An was stunned.
In the days to come, the three of them kept an eye on the movements across the world.
Great Song lost its momentum after Xianyang was breached. The Mongols traveled down the river and defeated Southern Song’s final stronghold at Dingjiazhou. After that, they marched straight toward Lin’an, easily crushing everything along the way.
Southern Song’s empress dowager led the majority of the officials to surrender to the Mongols. Some loyal officials tried to escape with the little emperor, but they were wiped out in the Battle of Yamen. An official named Lu Xiufu jumped into the sea with the little emperor in his arms, and the two of them died...
Over at Persia, Isabella was promoted to the leader of the Persian Ming Cult for retrieving the Great Cosmic Shift and persuading the Central Plains Ming Cult to surrender to the Mongols.
In the Central Plains, the martial world moved in the direction they'd designed. Many foreign experts settled in the Central Plains after the Mongols conquered the world. Many of the world’s original experts died in battle or of old age. It was truly an age of chaos, and the people suffered greatly.
Soon, however, a Wudang youth stepped forward to quell the evildoers with his supreme sword, upholding justice in the world.
The Ming Cult’s Cult Leader Shi passed away, and the Radiant Left Envoy took over his position.
The E’mei Sect was established and took in female disciples.
Huashan Sect slowly grew from a minor sect with just a few members into a powerhouse...
Everything progressed smoothly, except...
“What are the two of you doing? Why aren’t you sleeping with each other?” Firework glared at Zu An and Tingxue.
Tingxue kept her silence. Zu An sighed. “Such things require building up to the moment. How can you make a child just because you want to?”
“That wouldn’t have been a problem in the past, but we’re in mortal bodies now. Waiting is a luxury we can’t afford!” Firework gritted her teeth in anger.
Zu An looked at the embarrassed Tingxue and said, “Why don’t we adopt a child and nurture her into the Ancient Tomb Sect’s successor?”
His current relationship with Tingxue was above that of friends, but beneath that of lovers. They still lacked impetus.
“That won’t do.” Firework turned down his proposal. “Our survival is at stake here. Who knows if there will be a problem if the Ancient Tomb Sect’s successor has no blood ties to you? We can’t take this risk.”
“So be it. Death is nothing scary anyway.” Tingxue stood up and left.
The three of them had more or less completed their missions. The Ancient Tomb Sect’s successor fell under Tingxue’s jurisdiction.
Zu An shrugged.
Firework clenched her teeth. If it had been in the past, she would have already knocked out Tingxue, stripped her naked, and delivered her onto Zu An’s bed. She was irked by how the two of them were roleplaying innocent youths here.
But this world had sealed her supernatural powers, resulting in her being roughly equally matched with Tingxue. It also annoyed her that Zu An refused to cooperate with her in subduing Tingxue. This left her with no way to proceed.
She knew it could be disastrous if they continued dilly-dallying. Just then, though, a thought popped into her mind, and she smiled cunningly.
That night was a sleepless one for Zu An. He rolled around his bed, tugging his clothes, feeling unbearably hot. “What’s going on? Is this cultivation deviation?”
Just then, he heard light footsteps. He could tell it was Firework, and it made him chuckle a little. She really likes to sneak around.
His blanket was suddenly lifted. A warm and smooth body slipped in and hugged him tightly.
“It’s cold...” a gentle voice murmured.
Zu An immediately realized something was amiss. She's...
Just then, Firework suddenly appeared like a specter to seal his acupoint.
“Again?” Zu An was both infuriated and horrified.
Firework stood by the windowsill with a gleeful smile. “It’s finally done. You and Tingxue insisted on roleplaying innocent youths. I couldn’t stand it anymore, so I had no choice but to help you out.”
Zu An was speechless. You aren’t helping anyone here. You should have at least delivered Tingxue in! Why did you bring Guo Fu in instead?
