Chapter 3799: Wild Peak
No one dared to reply as the giant laughed.
A cold laugh. "Oh? Have you all suddenly become mute?"
Several elders awkwardly looked away.
The giant’s expression darkened further. "You discover a monster suitable for body cultivation and nobody sends me a message?"
His gaze landed on two body cultivation elders and Lin Mu immediately recognized them. Both had previously shown interest in Little Bull.
The giant pointed directly at them. "And you two."
The pair stiffened. "We thought—"
"You thought?" the giant interrupted. "Since when were you paid to think?"
The hall instantly became silent and one elder nearly choked trying not to laugh.
The giant continued mercilessly. "We belong to different peaks, yes."
Both elders nodded.
"We follow different paths, yes."
They nodded again.
The giant leaned forward.
"But remind me."
His voice dropped.
"Which division do we belong to?"
"...Body Cultivation Division."
"I can’t hear you."
"Body Cultivation Division."
"Louder."
"BODY CULTIVATION DIVISION!"
The giant slammed a fist into his palm. "Then why did I hear about this disciple from the Discipline Division instead of my own division?"
Neither elder could answer.
The giant snorted. "Useless."
One elder finally gathered courage. "We wanted to verify his talent first."
"Verify?" The giant barked a laugh. "The boy punched immortal beasts to death while being a mortal."
Several elders lowered their heads.
"He shattered assessment records."
More heads lowered.
"He broke formation arrays."
The room grew quieter.
"And you still needed verification?" The giant looked genuinely offended. "What were you waiting for? For him to wrestle the Patriarch?"
Several elders immediately burst into laughter and even Elder He Jian nearly lost control. The two body cultivation elders looked utterly miserable.
One finally tried defending himself. "We intended to notify you after securing him."
The giant stared before he laughed again. "Oh, now we arrive at the truth."
The elder immediately regretted speaking.
The giant pointed dramatically. "You wanted to steal him."
"No!"
"Yes."
"No!"
"Yes."
The giant nodded. "At least you’re ambitious." Then his expression darkened. "Stupid. But ambitious."
The hall erupted again, but the giant wasn’t finished. His gaze swept toward the remaining elders. "And the rest of you."
Several people immediately looked nervous.
"Don’t think I haven’t noticed." The giant pointed randomly. "You wanted him."
Another elder. "You wanted him too."
Another. "And you."
Another. "And definitely you."
The accused elders awkwardly looked away.
The giant snorted. "A bunch of vultures."
One formation elder couldn’t help himself. "High Elder, talent belongs to the sect."
The giant nodded. "Correct."
The elder brightened slightly.
Then the giant continued. "And body cultivation talent belongs to me."
The entire room exploded with laughter.
Even several high ranking elders observing remotely started laughing through their formation screens. The formation elder nearly turned red. Meanwhile Little Bull simply watched everything in confusion.
He quietly leaned toward Elder He Jian. "Why’s that big uncle angry?"
The old recruiter immediately covered his face. Several nearby elders heard the question. But for a moment nobody spoke.
Then High Elder Shatter Peak looked toward Little Bull as their eyes met.
The giant stared. Little Bull stared back.
Then the giant grinned. A huge grin. A terrifying grin.
The grin of a man who had finally found exactly what he had been searching for. And judging by the horrified expressions appearing on many elders’ faces, they all realized the same thing.
The moment High Elder Shatter Peak had walked through those doors, the battle for Little Bull had entered an entirely different stage.
High Elder Shatter Peak’s grin widened the longer he looked at Little Bull. The giant body cultivator completely ignored the dozens of glaring elders around him and strode forward until he stood directly in front of the young man.
"Boy!" he boomed.
Little Bull blinked. "Yes?"
The giant pointed a thumb at his own chest. "Join my peak."
Little Bull scratched his head. "What is a peak?"
Several elders immediately covered their faces.
High Elder Shatter Peak paused for a moment before replying. "My place."
Little Bull thought for several seconds. "Oh."
The giant nodded approvingly. "Good. You’ll fit right in."
The hall instantly erupted.
"You haven’t explained anything!"
"How is that a recruitment pitch?"
"That’s not how this works!"
Several elders shouted at once.
High Elder Shatter Peak looked offended. "What do you mean? I explained it."
"No, you didn’t!" someone yelled.
The giant frowned, then he looked back at Little Bull. "My peak is called Wild Peak."
Little Bull nodded. "What does Wild Peak do?"
The giant answered immediately. "We are strong."
The hall fell silent and a moment later, groans echoed everywhere. One elder nearly smashed his forehead against the table while another buried his face in his sleeves. Even Elder He Jian looked like he was suffering.
The two body cultivation elders who had been previously scolded finally saw an opportunity.
One of them coughed. "High Elder, perhaps you should explain the Body Cultivation Division properly."
High Elder Shatter Peak narrowed his eyes.
Then he snorted. "Hmph. Fine."
He folded his massive arms. "The Body Cultivation Division has two peaks."
Little Bull listened attentively.
"One is Man Peak." The giant pointed toward the two body cultivation elders. "Their peak."
Then he pointed at himself. "The other is Wild Peak."
Little Bull waited as several seconds passed.
"That’s it?" he asked.
The two body cultivation elders nearly cried from frustration.
Finally one stepped forward. "Allow us."
High Elder Shatter Peak rolled his eyes dramatically.
The first elder bowed slightly toward Little Bull. "Junior Bull, the Body Cultivation Division is split into two major branches." The man spoke patiently. "Man Peak contains nearly ninety percent of all body cultivators within the sect."
Little Bull blinked. "That’s a lot."
"It is." The second elder nodded and continued explaining. "Our peak follows structured development. We possess standardized cultivation methods, established training programs, specialized teachers, scheduled missions, proper rankings, dedicated resources, and carefully planned advancement paths."
Little Bull looked impressed. "Oh."
The elder smiled. "If you join Man Peak, your growth will be guided from beginning to end." Before he could continue, High Elder Shatter Peak snorted loudly. "And become soft."
The elder’s smile froze but the second elder ignored him. "Wild Peak contains the remaining ten percent."
Little Bull tilted his head. "Why?"
