Chapter 3381: Demon Record (4)
As if getting pregnant wasn’t bad enough, strange and terrifying people and demons had begun appearing around her out of nowhere.
These demons were always trying to eat her.
They had been chasing her relentlessly.
Where the hell had that bastard who did that to her gone off to?
She vaguely remembered he was a strikingly handsome man, so flawless she’d once thought she thought of the dream in which they had their intimate encounter as a perfect dream.
And yet she’d ended up pregnant.
Could someone please explain how she could get pregnant from a dream?
The worst part was…
“Mommy, don’t be afraid. Baby will protect you.”
A soft, childish voice echoed from within An Yujun’s belly.
Now that was the truly horrifying part. Why on earth could the babies inside her talk?
An Yujun was surrounded by a group of demons. Their greedy gazes were fixed on her stomach, and they were licking their lips with ther forked tongues.
She was done for.
An Yujun felt a wave of despair.
Ning Shu hid off to the side, watching as An Yujun was surrounded. No matter what, she didn’t want to get involved in this.
The snake king had killed Yuan Liang. One way or another, she had to get justice from the snake king.
To go up against the snake king meant going up against An Yujun. She and An Yujun were bound to stand on the opposing side.
They were, after all, a family of four.
Still, since An Yujun was the woman her entrustor had loved, Ning Shu wouldn’t kick her while she was down… but she wasn’t about to lend a helping hand, either.
She could barely afford to feed herself these days, let alone take care of a pregnant woman carrying two eggs.
An Yujun was pregnant, and the children in her womb needed energy and nourishment, so she ate a lot.
Putting multiple big eaters together would be… unimaginable.
Thinking about it that way, Ning Shu couldn’t help but feel that Yuan Liang was kind of playing the role of a stepdad back then.
No one knew what had happened to the snake king. He’d up and vanished, abandoning his mate and unborn children.
Then along came Yuan Liang, the shining bodyguard, ready to provide food, shelter, and personal protection.
Ah, how noble love was.
Ning Shu masked her energy and stayed hidden, silently watching it all unfold.
Her emotions felt a bit tangled. It was probably the residual feelings of her entrustor.
An Yujun clutched her stomach. There was nowhere left to retreat. Her expression was full of fear and helplessness.
If only someone would come to her rescue right now…
She knew these demons were after her babies.
But they were her children. Odd though it was, she’d been terrified at first—so much so that she’d deliberately thrown herself down the stairs.
Even then, the children had survived.
She’d even ended up on the operating table for an abortion, but in the end, she’d burst out of the operating room to flee.
Although the children could talk while still in the womb, which was undoubtedly strange, they were still her children.
An Yujun picked up a rusty steel pipe from the ground and faced off against the surrounding demons.
No one was going to harm her babies.
A huge, ugly, and foul-smelling spider was the first to charge at her.
This demon hadn’t even managed to take on human form. If it could devour a demon fetus, it would gain immense power.
An Yujun’s limbs turned to jelly. She stood frozen as the spider launched at her. She let out a terrified scream as she shut her eyes and swung the steel pipe wildly.
To her surprise, the random thrashing somehow worked—and coupled with a powerful attack released from her womb, it sent the massive spider flying.
The giant spider crashed hard to the ground and landed directly in the narrow corridor where Ning Shu had been hiding. Their eyes met.
Ning Shu: …
It had landed right in her hiding spot.
How interesting.
It seemed the storyline would always find its way back to where it was supposed to be.
“There’s someone else over there!” shrieked the spider with a human head. The spider bared fangs and spat webbing towards Ning Shu.
Ning Shu grabbed her bags and flipped backwards a few times, dodging the webs. She crouched and adjusted her slipping glasses.
“I’m just a passerby. No need for violence.
“With a face like yours, you’ll be dealt with by the Special Investigation Bureau sooner or later. And yet you still dare to stir up trouble? You’d best crawl back to your sewer.”
Ning Shu stood up.
The spider stank. An overpowering stench that clung to its body.
The human-headed spider grinned, revealing rows of sharp, menacing teeth.
“That woman is our prey. If you know what’s good for you, piss off.”
The words that came from its mouth were so foul-smelling, they reached her even from five metres away.
Ning Shu backed up a few steps and held her hands up.
“Carry on, then. I’m just passing through.”
“Help me! Please, help!” While still gripping the steel pipe, An Yujun suddenly ran towards Ning Shu.
“Mommy, that person’s a demon too. Don’t go near him,” her child warned her.
An Yujun had no choice. Compared to the savage-looking demons, this bespectacled, gentle-seeming one looked a bit more like a decent person.
She couldn’t take another day of being hunted by demons.
Ning Shu: …
The massive spider shot silk at An Yujun. Thick, yellowish-white strands, like power cables, wrapped around her body.
The webbing stank so badly that An Yujun nearly vomited.
“If you really are just passing by, then walk away. Pretend you never saw any of this.”
The demons suddenly encircled An Yujun again.
She struggled against the webs, which were sticky and poisonous.
Her limbs were going numb, and she could no longer move.
An Yujun looked pleadingly at Ning Shu, silently begging her for help.
Ning Shu showed no emotion.
“You’re still not leaving?”
The demons eyed Ning Shu warily.
Ning Shu, who was carrying two bulging bags, prepared to walk away.
She passed by An Yujun expressionlessly. An Yujun looked at her with tear-filled eyes full of hope and desperation.
Ning Shu didn’t even glance sideways.
Suddenly, a sharp, piercing pain twisted through her heart. It nearly knocked the wind out of her.
She clutched her chest, using the other hand to steady herself against the wall.
Seriously, Yuan Liang—what a pure-hearted shut-in.
Her body’s reaction made it clear. She had to intervene.
Ning Shu: …
She ignored her body’s warning and kept walking, but the pain in her chest only worsened.
Love, she thought bitterly.
Yuan Liang liked An Yujun. Even if he been killed, it was not her fault.
It was just that… he lacked competitiveness in this love story, so he could only play the role of the sucker.
Ning Shu rubbed her forehead. What kind of logic was that?
Not everything could be justified by love.
Using love as a reason didn’t make everything noble and glorious.
As if dying for love was something to be proud of.
Heh.
If he thought so highly of his death, then why was he seeking a counterattack?
Ning Shu clutched her chest. The pain was now unbearable, and she felt as if a giant hand were crushing her heart. She found herself gasping for air.
She set down her bags, turned back, and faced the demons.
She cracked her knuckles, then charged at them. She punched one out cold and kicked another flying.
Then, she shrugged off her jacket, wrapped it around An Yujun, hefted her onto her shoulder, grabbed the bags again, and bolted.
Ning Shu used a curtain of water to shield An Yujun.
