Chapter 3387: Demon Record (10)

Chapter 3387: Demon Record (10)

Their eggs were about the size of an ostrich’s each. Meanwhile, the snakes inside these eggs kept growing larger and larger. Eventually, those snakes would break through the shell and crawl out of her body.

But the eggshells would remain inside her. They couldn’t be removed without surgery.

Did she think it’d be fun to carry that in her belly?

An Yujun only said, “It’s fine. The babies need to develop properly. I can’t let them be born weak and frail.”

Ning Shu raised an eyebrow. Based on what she had observed, the children inside the eggs were already quite large. Any bigger and they would break through their eggshells.

“You’re way past your due date. Why haven’t you given birth yet?”

Just thinking about a snake being inside a human body made Ning Shu feel extremely creeped out.

A long snake crawling out of a body…

Cross-species relationships were dangerous precisely because of things like these.

Ning Shu felt snakes were a rather terrifying species, with their flickering forked tongues and sharp fangs.

Those snakes, crawling out of someone’s body…

Honestly, Ning Shu didn’t understand why the snake king would dally with a human girl. Was it because he felt An Yujun was pitiable?

So he slipped into her home, and then did the deed with her.

Or did he want to leave his seed, to let the human girl bear his selfish legacy?

Then why not find a demon? There were female snake demons too, so why did he have to choose a human?

Ning Shu could only attribute it to the attraction between individuals.

Ning Shu urged An Yujun to give birth early, to avoid leaving the eggshells inside her body.

However…

The more Ning Shu pressed An Yujun to have the children soon, the more she felt that Ning Shu had ill intentions, that Ning Shu wanted to eat her children.

But she didn’t dare confront Ning Shu directly and merely said, “I’ll let the children mature and be born naturally.”

When An Yujun gave birth was none of her business anyway, so Ning Shu stopped pestering her.

She’d rather spend her time drawing her BL manga rather than talking to An Yujun.

The royalties that Ning Shu received from the BL manga were enough for her to live on. At least, they allowed her to eat whatever she wanted.

She wondered what her entrustor’s reaction would be when he returned and found a webcomic depicting illicit male-male relationships under his name.

He’d probably be utterly bewildered and think, ‘What the hell!?’

As an upright shut-in, Yuan Liang would definitely find it hard to adjust, but it might also open a door to a new world for him.

Wahahaha…

Ning Shu ate two large bowls of leg meat, let out a burp, and noticed that An Yujun looked unwell. She was holding her stomach with one hand.

“You’re not going into labor, are you?” Ning Shu asked An Yujun.

An Yujun, who was sweating profusely, waved her hand dismissively, rushed into the bathroom, and locked the door.

Ning Shu knocked on the door and asked, “An Yujun, what’s wrong?”

“I’m fine. I just have a bit of diarrhea.” An Yujun’s voice sounded pained, but she still refused to open the door.

Ning Shu released her mental consciousness and saw An Yujun sitting on the floor, with her legs spread and blood staining her skirt underneath.

A long snake, which was as thick as a thumb, was slithering out from under her skirt.

It was a black snake. After emerging from the skirt, he coiled up and flicked his crimson, forked tongue at An Yujun.

“Mommy, hang in there. Sister is almost out as well. She’s just too playful—she never cultivated, and now she’s causing you so much pain.”

An Yujun gritted her teeth. Her face was deathly pale, and she was clutching her stomach in agony.

The blood flow from below An Yujun increased. It streamed towards the bathroom drain and formed a winding trail.

The anxious little black snake burrowed back under the skirt, bit the head of the little white snake, and dragged her out.

An Yujun’s face took on an ashen hue.

“Mommy!” The black and white snakes called out to An Yujun.

The little black snake channeled some demonic energy into An Yujun’s body, which slightly improved her complexion.

“Sorry, Mommy. We kept getting bigger and broke our eggshells. We should have come out sooner,” the little black snake said while bowing his head.

An Yujun smiled with her bloodless lips and said, “It’s okay.”

Ning Shu stood outside the door, not knowing what to say.

“An Yujun, are you okay?” Ning Shu called out from outside the door.

“Hurry, hide.” An Yujun struggled to her feet, told the two children to hide in the towels, then took the showerhead and washed away the blood on the floor.

“Yuan Liang, I want to take a shower. Can you get me a change of clothes?” An Yujun’s dress was covered in blood.

Ning Shu fetched clothes from the balcony, knocked on the door, and said, “I have the clothes.”

An Yujun opened the door a crack, reached out a hand, and took the clothes.

Ning Shu caught a strong whiff of blood.

An Yujun took the clothes and immediately closed the door.

She was going to bathe right after giving birth. She was not even worried about catching a chill.

Ning Shu said from outside the door, “It’s a bit cold today. Make the water hot, and don’t shower for too long. Don’t faint in there.”

“Alright. I know,” An Yujun said. Her voice was faint. Soon, the sound of running water started.

This time, An Yujun came out quickly. Her face was very, very pale. Her stomach was somewhat deflated, but still slightly bulging.

This was because the eggshells were still inside her body.

Seeing Ning Shu still standing outside the bathroom door, An Yujun closed the door behind her as she exited and said, “Thank you for getting my clothes.”

Ning Shu glanced at An Yujun, then turned and went to sit on the living room sofa to continue drawing her webcomic.

An Yujun breathed an almost imperceptible sigh of relief and was about to go cook in the kitchen.

Ning Shu said lightly, “Don’t cook. I’ll order takeout. Eating your cooking every day is so boring.”

“Oh, okay.”

An Yujun felt very unwell. She was more than happy that she didn’t have to cook.

She pulled her clothes tighter around her. Even though it was summer, she had broken out in a cold sweat and felt chills seeping into her bones.

Ning Shu put down her pen, saw how weak An Yujun looked, and asked, “Are you sick?”

“I do feel a bit uncomfortable.”

Ning Shu rubbed her chin. “Go sleep in my room. After all, you are the mother of the snake king’s children.”

“Thank you.” An Yujun went into the bathroom, then secretly brought the two little snakes into the room with her.

When Ning Shu ordered takeout that evening, she included a chicken soup and some light dishes, then brought them into the room.

The two little snakes hid under the covers.

Ning Shu placed the food on the bedside table and said, “Eat something.”

“Thank you.” An Yujun sat up and leaned against the headboard.

Ning Shu looked at An Yujun’s pale face and asked, “Do you want to go to the hospital?”

The little snakes’ eggshells were still inside her body, and in a fragile place like her uterus, at that. Wasn’t she taking her health too lightly?

On a side note, Ning Shu didn’t understand why An Yujun was with the snake king. The snake king’s actions basically counted as rape, didn’t they?

And in the end, she was being hunted by demons because of the fetuses.

An Yujun shook her head. “I’m fine. I’ll be okay after some rest. No need for the hospital.”

Ning Shu’s intention was to take An Yujun to the hospital to get the eggshells inside her body removed.

But since An Yujun was wary of her, she let it go.

“Rest well, then.”

Ning Shu glanced at the blanket, under which the two little snakes were moving.
