Chapter 3389: Demon Record (12)

Chapter 3389: Demon Record (12)

The little white snake writhed wildly in the rice cooker, causing the appliance to skitter back and forth.

An Yujun’s face turned deathly pale. Her daughter was being cooked in that rice cooker!

She opened the rice cooker lid, and the little white snake poked her head out, crying piteously towards her.

An Yujun, who was clutching both small snakes, stared warily at Ning Shu. The barefoot woman kept backing away until she reached the living room.

Ning Shu covered her nose. An Yujun carried a scent of blood, mixed with a stink of rotten eggs.

The smell of postpartum vaginal discharge combined with the smell of rotten eggs was rather… unique.

She had told her to go to the hospital to remove the foreign matter in her body.

What on earth was An Yujun trying to achieve?

“You want to eat my children. You really are no different from the other demons,” An Yujun said. Her gaze towards Ning Shu was full of disappointment.

Ning Shu, clasped her hands behind her back and replied with casual ease, “I am a demon. I have always been a demon, one who kills without blinking. You got a problem with that?”

An Yujun felt only fear towards the demons who hunted her. But facing Ning Shu, not only was she unafraid, she was full of reproach.

Timid people only dared to hurt those familiar to them.

Was the next line going to be that she had betrayed An Yujun’s trust?

“I always thought you were different from the other demons. I believed you were different. But I never imagined you also want to eat my children.”

An Yujun’s face was terribly pale, and she also had her bare feet on the floor, even though the floor was ice-cold. She was being so careless with her health.

Just thinking about it made Ning Shu feel a bit uncomfortable.

“Don’t put on this deceived act. I never asked you to trust me, and I never made you any promises,” Ning Shu said while spreading her hands.

“Mommy, you take little sister and go first. I’ll hold the rear,” the little black snake said to An Yujun. His body began to swell rapidly.

He grew from the thickness of a thumb to the size of a man’s fist, and transformed from a small snake into a half-grown python.

His form enlarged. He was entirely jet-black, and his scales were shimmering with a metallic lustre, which made him appear fierce and immensely intimidating.

The little black snake raised the front of his body. His forked tongue flicked out.

The entire room suddenly felt cramped.

An Yujun, who was at first startled by her son’s transformation, decided not to hesitate and made a dash for the door.

But just as she reached it, she was blocked by an invisible barrier and thrown back.

An Yujun and the snakes had been stopped by a water screen.

The rebound sent An Yujun stumbling to the floor with a grunt. Her face grew paler, and blood flowed fresh from beneath her.

“Blind Eagle, what have you done?” the little white snake shouted at Ning Shu. She felt furious and shamed.

“Are you sure you want to start a war with us? My father is the Snake King. Have you considered the consequences?”

Ning Shu said, “I haven’t done anything. You lot were the ones who made the first move, with all this shouting and bluster.”

“What do you mean we made the first move? You threw me into a rice cooker! You wanted to toy with big brother, and you say we started it?”

The little white snake truly wished it could bite Ning Shu.

“I was acting from a spirit of scientific inquiry. I wanted to see if snakes have two penises, to study your brother,” Ning Shu said offhandedly.

A man who was well-endowed, skilled, powerful, and good-looking to boot.

That was the recipe for a destined love story, of course.

Ning Shu’s attitude infuriated the two young snakes.

Scientific inquiry, their foot! She just wanted to eat them.

“Then what about this barrier? You want to trap us here?” The little white snake fumed. Her body leaned forward into an attacking posture.

“Young lady, one must speak with a clear conscience. That water screen is there to cover and conceal your demonic aura. Without it, you’d have been torn apart by hordes of demons swarming here long ago.

“And now you claim the barrier is trapping you? The water screen feels very hard done by.”

One must claim both the good and the bad.

They thought the whole world must bend to their will.

And now they scorned her barrier.

“So, from the very beginning, you intended to imprison us here. You want us all for yourself,” the little black snake said. His tongue was flicking, and there was suspicion in his voice, which was directed at Ning Shu.

Ning Shu blinked. Should she take this blame or not?

“Get this straight. It was you who insisted on following me back then. And now it’s my fault? I won’t carry this black pot,” Ning Shu said while waving a hand.

No matter the situation, one must never let oneself be put in the wrong.

“Whereas you lot—you eat my food, drink my stuff, live in my home, and now you’re launching a psychological attack on me. Not only do you refuse to compensate me, but you also want to pin the blame on me.”

They’d taken all the advantages, and now they wanted the moral high ground too.

Now she had become some scheming creature who imprisoned the snake king’s wife and wanted to devour the snake king’s children.

That wasn’t what they said back then.

Weren’t they very grateful that she took them in?

“Yuan Liang, we wish to leave now. Could you please let us go? We need to find the children’s father,” An Yujun said. Her face was pale as she addressed Ning Shu.

“Thank you for taking us in. Once I find their father, I will return to repay you.”

Ning Shu blinked. Why did that sound so much like a threat?

Could she believe in this ‘repayment’?

Right now, these three were like a chicken rib—tasteless to keep, yet a pity to throw away.

Ning Shu felt like smacking her own claws. She never should have rescued them in the first place.

The four of them stood in a stalemate, when suddenly Ning Shu’s expression shifted slightly.

Someone had broken into her water screen.

Ning Shu looked towards the balcony. A man had entered the room from there.

He was dressed in casual clothes, with a head of neat, sharp hair. He was a very handsome man.

The little white snake flicked her tongue, seemingly sensing a familiar aura from the person before her. She immediately slithered towards him. “Father! Father!”

The little black snake also shrank back to a small size and slithered towards the man.

“So, you are the woman who bore my offspring?” the snake king asked while looking down at An Yujun from his height.

An Yujun felt somewhat flustered. Facing this suddenly appearing man, her emotions were particularly complex.

Especially since he was openly scrutinizing her.

“Father, Mommy suffered greatly to protect us,” the little white snake said while coiling around the snake king’s wrist.

“Thank you,” the snake king said to An Yujun. There was a rare softness in his voice, and his narrow eyes held a certain tenderness as they regarded An Yujun.

He reached out to touch An Yujun’s head, but she dodged backwards.

After she’d given birth, she was constantly breaking out in acnes, hadn’t washed her hair, and always carried a certain smell about her.

The snake king’s face darkened. Somewhat forcefully, he pulled An Yujun closer. “What are you dodging from? You are the mother of my children.”

Ning Shu, who was being ignored: …

So, you come to my home to force-feed me your dog food—your PDA? I’ll knock your dog bowls right over.

“Father, this blind eagle wanted to chop me and Brother up to make snake soup! She’s really bad!” the little white snake complained to the snake king.

An Yujun’s lips moved a couple of times, but in the end, she didn’t speak.

“What did you want to say?” The snake king, who had been watching An Yujun, noticed her wanting to speak and thus asked.

An Yujun looked at Ning Shu, who was standing opposite them, and said, “Actually… when I was being hunted by demons, it was he who took me in. Could you… let him go?”
