Now that the snake king had arrived, An Yujun’s mind and body relaxed, and she could also pleaded on Ning Shu’s behalf. She was safe now, and could let the eagle go.

The snake king stared at Ning Shu with an unkind look in his eyes.

Ning Shu was fearless. She thought, ‘So what if I enslaved her? Come bite me.’

“Sister is telling the truth. We were too scared to come out while inside Mommy’s belly, so we ended up growing until we broke the eggshells.

“The eggshells are still inside Mommy’s body right now.”

The little black snake also joined the team denouncing Ning Shu.

Ning Shu blinked. In the blink of an eye, she had become a heinous villain. Why was no one mentioning that she had saved their lives?

The snake king frowned. His long, narrow eyes looking at An Yujun’s belly. “Does it feel uncomfortable?”

“I’m fine.”

Ning Shu offered an idea. “What’s the big deal? Just let the two kids crawl back inside her body and carry the eggshells out with their mouths. Problem solved.”

As soon as Ning Shu said this, the atmosphere turned instantly cold and awkward.

An Yujun wished she could find a crack in the ground to hide in. What kind of suggestion was that? Telling the children crawl back in to get the shells…

As the snake king stared at Ning Shu, his vertical pupils constricted, which made him give off a distinct sense of danger.

He flicked his tongue. His forked snake tongue was huge.

Ning Shu felt a bit nauseous. Damn, making love with a species like this in bed? Just… wow.

She guessed the snake king was covered in ‘tools.’ He could use his tongue, fingers, even the snake tail.

And his two dicks, too.

The snake king flickered into view before Ning Shu. He propped himself up and looked down at her from above. “You bullied my wife and children. Pay with your life.”

The snake king’s presence was overwhelmingly powerful, and all of that pressure was directed straight at Ning Shu.

Ning Shu was under tremendous strain.

No wonder her entrustor had been killed instantly the moment they met. The gap in their strength was simply too great.

Her hand transformed into a claw and sharpened into an eagle’s talon that gleamed with a cold, sinister sheen. She exploded into motion and slashed viciously at the snake king.

The snake king moved incredibly fast and dodged the attack with ease. The two of them clashed and became locked in combat.

The entire living room was thrown into chaos as the snake king’s tail swept through the space, knocking things over.

His tail carried immense power. Ning Shu was only grazed once by it, yet she felt pain rip through her internal organs.

If she were wrapped up by that tail, she would be crushed to death by sheer force.

On top of that, his poison was formidable. Anything that came into contact with it would be corroded.

Drops of venom splashed onto the floor, which hissed and sizzled in response.

Ning Shu raised a curtain of water around herself to keep the poison from splashing onto her. Even if it did hit, the water barrier could block it somewhat.

What a terrifying snake king! In this era when demons were in decline, it was exceedingly rare for one to possess such overwhelming power.

The room was a complete mess. Looking at the snake king, who was coiled there like a massive lump of… something unpleasant, Ning Shu adjusted her glasses with her talon.

The space was too cramped to fight freely, and this snake king was clearly no ordinary opponent.

Still, the snake king’s razor-sharp nails tore through her clothes, leaving several deep gashes across her chest that smoked and hissed.

She slammed into the wall and collapsed onto the floor. The sensation of poison eating away at her flesh was excruciating.

Ning Shu was suffering, but the snake king wasn’t doing well either. The blood inside his body was being forcibly stripped out.

Drop by drop, it surged out and hovered in midair.

The room filled with floating droplets of blood.

The snake king’s form visibly shrank, losing more than a full layer of mass. A demon’s vital blood was its power. Now that blood had been torn from his body.

Ning Shu wiped the blood from the corner of her mouth. Her chest was rotting and smoking where the venom had eaten into her flesh, but seeing the snake king in pain, she felt it was still worth it.

The sky of blood terrified An Yujun and the two little snakes.

“Daddy!” the two snakes cried out to the snake king.

An Yujun rushed over, asking frantically, “How are you? Are you okay?”

Ning Shu pointed with her finger. Blood droplets the size of thumbs began to gather together, slowly merging into a mass as large as a football.

The snake king stared at the blood, transformed into a massive snake head, and swallowed it in one bite.

Ning Shu: …

She had practically sacrificed half her life just to extract that blood from him.

When the snake king swallowed his own blood, it was like he’d swallowed a bomb. The blood exploded inside his body. He let out a muffled groan and spat out a cloud of bloody mist.

The snake king returned to human form after that. He was drenched in blood. His face had turned a sickly blue as he stared at Ning Shu.

“You actually have some skill.”

Ning Shu’s chest had been so badly corroded by poison that her ribs were visible. While enduring the pain, she smiled and said lightly, “Ouch, that really hurts. Looks like the only way to detox is with your anti-venom. No choice, then. I’ll just have to draw some more of your blood.”

His poison couldn’t be eased even by rinsing with clean water. The corrosion only continued.

“That’s enough. Stop fighting!” An Yujun shouted.

Ning Shu’s expression was flat. She pointed at her chest. “You can literally see my bones, and you’re telling me to stop? Are you blind or what?”

The snake king had swallowed his own vital blood and been injured internally by the explosive force within it. Neither of them had come out ahead in this fight, and the sensation of having one’s blood forcibly stripped away—that was true agony.

The two little snakes wrapped themselves silently around the snake king’s wrists.

If they’d known it would turn out like this, they never would have egged their father on to fight that blind eagle. The blind eagle was terrifyingly strong, even though he usually looked so timid.

An Yujun’s face was pale with a bluish tinge. She had been barefoot this whole time, and her body was starting to give out. Even her lips had turned faintly blue.
