Chapter 3443: Earth World Origin

Chapter 3443: Earth World Origin

She had already experienced so much that she was already prone to cultivation deviation. Absorbing impure soul power would only make her more vulnerable to the influence of those impurities.

Ning Shu sighed. She really had money but nowhere to spend it. She flopped onto the sofa and clicked on a video to check how her entrustor in the previous task world, Wu Jing, was doing after her return.

In the video, Wu Jing was still wearing her military uniform, looking more heroic and spirited than ever. Although she was not as traditionally pretty as Wu Xianrou, she was taller and more imposing. She stood with a straight back while training new recruits, remaining calm and composed during tasks. She carried the expectations of her country on her shoulders.

Ning Shu swiped through the video to check on Song Yi. He was still rising through the ranks, proving himself to be an outstanding man in the military. He had also gotten married. It was a match arranged by his superior. His wife was gentle and moving, as soft as water, and the two of them lived in harmony. Perhaps after experiencing such intense, volatile emotions with Wu Xianrou, he had chosen a woman who was as inclusive and steady as water.

It seemed that some people simply were not meant to be together. Even without Wu Xianrou in the picture, Wu Jing and Song Yi still didn’t end up as a couple. However, there were other things in life besides romance, and Wu Jing did not try to force it. Song Yi did not love her, and even after several years, that spark had never ignited.

Ning Shu smiled, feeling that even without Song Yi, Wu Jing would be able to find someone she liked. She would eventually meet someone she had chemistry with. Besides, the beauty of life did not necessarily depend on possessing romantic love. Having it was a blessing, but not having it did not mean one’s life was incomplete. Sometimes, a flower just needed time before it could bloom into something beautiful.

Ning Shu swiped the video again to check on Wu Xianrou. She really wanted to see if Wu Xianrou was living a happy, blessed life. To be honest, Wu Xianrou’s life was quite enviable, but her personality was truly unlikable. It was as if she believed all the good fortune in the world should naturally fall into her lap.

In the video, Wu Xianrou had given birth to a boy. However, she was always in a state of sorrow, clutching her baby and crying about how his father didn’t want them anymore. Wu Xianrou was the type of person who could not live without romance. She was clearly a wealthy socialite with a starting point much higher than that of ordinary people. She could eat well, dress well, and have fun. She had more than enough money to do whatever she wanted. Moreover, she held the legal position of the wife, leaving the ‘vixen’ types outside to gnash their teeth in frustration, unable to do anything about her. Her father was also a high-ranking official.

With such great conditions, why was she so miserable over ‘love’ every single day? She waited up until midnight every night for her husband to come home. Those who knew her would say it was for love, but those who didn’t would think she was a woman from a feudal society whose head was filled with nothing but chastity arches and the idea that she couldn’t exist without a man.

Ning Shu found it utterly ridiculous. It was truly a stroke of bad luck to be Wu Xianrou’s child and be stuck with such a neurotic mother.

Ning Shu turned off the video. Some people were simply born for love. Aside from romance, they had nothing else in their lives, and they lived solely for it.

Ning Shu stretched. “I think I should look around. Maybe I can find some world origins. After all, I have plenty of money now.”

“High-end trading venues or the auction houses should have such things, but they are rare. The chances of finding one aren’t high,” 2333 explained.

“Then we’ll search city by city. I have plenty of time anyway,” Ning Shu said nonchalantly.

She really did have plenty of time. However, the requirement had jumped from five world origins to seven. Ning Shu felt like crying. Light and dark attributes were not easy to find at all. On top of that, she needed a reincarnation world. She didn’t even want to talk about it.

2333 transported Ning Shu to the City of Time. She headed straight for the trading hall there to ask if there were any world origins. Then, she spent 300 merit points to enter the auction house. The entry fee in the City of Time was only 300, while the City of Water actually charged 500. Ever since the auction house in City of Water dodged her taxes, Ning Shu’s opinion of auction houses had dropped into the negatives. One day, she would kick that auction house out of her city. All of this happened because she wasn’t strong enough to intimidate those people.

Ning Shu consulted with the staff at the auction house about world origins, but she was told they had none. She moved on to other cities to see if she could find any. It would be best if she could solve this with merit and faith points. After all, with so many task-takers out there, even if she couldn’t find one herself, someone else might have found one.

Finally, Ning Shu found an Earth-attribute world origin in the City of Gold’s trading hall. She was elated. An Earth attribute was exactly what she needed. The person running the stall was a real shark, though, asking for a starting price of one hundred thousand merit points.

You might as well go to heaven at that price! The price of a world origin usually fluctuated between 30,000 and 60,000. Asking for 100,000 right off the bat? He could play that game by himself. Just because she needed it didn’t mean she was willing to let herself be scammed.

“Wait, we can negotiate the price,” the seller said when she turned to leave.

“I’ll give you 50,000. If that’s not okay, then forget it.”

Mei Ziqing had been truly generous back then, when she gave her the Gold-attribute world origin for only 50,000. World origins were precious because they were rare, but they didn’t have much practical use other than for constructing worlds. In the end, Ning Shu secured the Earth-attribute world origin for 60,000.

After securing this one, she traveled to other cities to see if she could find more. She now had four: Earth, Wood, Fire, and Gold. If she could find Water, the five basic elements would be complete. Combined with Light and Dark, she would have all seven.

Ning Shu entered Dark City, but the place was bizarre. It was pitch black, and she couldn’t even see her own hand in front of her face. She couldn’t see anything at all.

“Let’s go. I can’t see a thing,” Ning Shu said to 2333. Without comprehending the ordinance of darkness, one was blind here. Furthermore, she could feel other powers surging within the darkness. It wasn’t exactly evil, just pure dark energy.

She moved on to other cities, but she couldn’t find any more world origins. Obtaining the Earth world origin, which was exactly what she needed, was already lucky enough.

Ning Shu returned to her system space and placed the Earth origin into her Unsurpassable Martial Arts manual. The Earth-attribute world origin existed in the form of a clump of mud. It was soft and pliable, like modeling clay, and could be molded into any shape with vivid detail.

Themanual slowly began to fuse with the Earth world origin. Because the Earth attribute was heavy and stable, it didn’t cause as much of a stir as the Gold attribute had during the fusion. The seal script characters on the cover of the manual became even more substantial. They changed from a bright gold to an earthy yellow, and the characters became increasingly three-dimensional.

Now that she had four world origins, Ning Shu projected her spiritual consciousness into the into the Unsurpassable Martial Arts space. The inside was a void, a vast expanse of white that stretched as far as the eye could see, with the distance shrouded in gray mist. There were no mountains or rivers yet. With the Earth attribute, she expected land and mountains to form. If she could get the Water attribute, she would likely have rivers. With mountains and water, life could begin to evolve. Perhaps her world would soon have living creatures of its own.
